Editing, Copying, and Deleting Composite Queries

Use the Edit, Copy, and Delete links in the Composite Query Manager search page (PSCPQSRCH) to edit, copy, and delete existing composite queries.

To edit composite queries:

  1. Select Reporting Tools, Composite Query, Composite Query Manager.

    The Composite Query Manager search page appears.

  2. Click the Search button.

    A list of existing composite queries appears.

  3. Click the Edit link for the composite query that you want to edit.

    The Composite Query Manager page appears. From this page, you can edit the composite query by adding base queries, defining prompts and expressions, applying aggregate functions, and so on.

To delete composite queries:

  1. Select Reporting Tools, Composite Query, Composite Query Manager.

    The Composite Query Manager search page appears.

  2. Click the Search button.

    A list of existing composite queries appears.

  3. Click the Delete link for the composite query that you want to delete.

    A delete warning message appears.

  4. Click the OK button to confirm that you want to delete the selected composite query.

    The Composite Query Manager search page reappears, displaying a delete confirmation message.

Use the Copy Composite Query page (PSCONQRSCOPY) to copy the composite queries.

Steps Used to Copy Composite Queries

To copy composite queries:

  1. Select Reporting Tools, Composite Query, Composite Query Manager.

    The Composite Query Manager search page appears.

  2. Click the Search button.

    A list of existing composite queries appears.

  3. Click the Copy link for the composite query that you want to copy.

    The Copy Composite Query page appears.

  4. Enter a unique name, set the status, and select the type for the target composite query.

  5. Optionally, modify the query description and comment for the target composite query.

  6. Click the Save button.

    The Composite Query Manager search page appears, listing the cloned composite query along with other existing composite queries.

Composite Query is a managed object that can be copied between databases using database project. To copy a composite query between databases:

  1. Use Application Designer to create a project.

  2. Insert a Composite Query definition into the project.

  3. Copy the database project (that has the Composite Query definition) between databases.

Note: Database projects that have the Composite Query definitions can also be exported to or from file and imported to or from file.
