OIPA Release Notes
Oracle Insurance Policy Administration
Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA) is a next-generation, flexible, rules-based insurance solution for life and annuities that supports policy processing across multiple lines of business. OIPA greatly enhances ease of use and speed for business analysts, actuaries and others involved in the product configuration process. Robust navigation also makes it easy for users, including CSRs, to locate policy information and drill down into a granular level of customer detail. This allows insurers to respond more rapidly to customer inquiries, reduce call times and improve customer service.
These release notes contain the enhancements that were made to Oracle Insurance Policy Administration GA release 11.2.0.0, 2018.

Oracle Insurance Policy Administration
This section describes configuration, features and technology specific enhancements for GA release 11.2.0.0. OIPA is now able to support the below functionality:
New Features
Admin Console
Oracle Insurance Admin Console (OIAC) is a new Web Application built to display OIPA execution metrics. Admin Console will give customers the ability to monitor Cycle and Activity processes via several views, in both textual and graphical formats with past and present information. Admin Console will generate useful data pertaining to data processing which can be used to derive insights into operations and insight driven decisions can be taken to optimize the operational execution. Admin Console allows the system to monitor OIPA cycle in real time, compare OIPA cycle executions across multiple cycles, and execute partial and full cycle.
New Business Underwriting
Amendments and Endorsement Capability
OIPA supports creation of amendments and endorsements both manually as well as in automated way. Since OIPA accommodates major part of NBU capability such as case creation, application management etc. it was desirable to complement this capability with the support of Amendments & Endorsement functionality. This functionality exploits the existing event driven transaction processing capability in OIPA to achieve automated creation of Amendments and endorsements which after underwriting can run automatically with no user intervention.

API Service Layer
The API Service Layer application has been added to enable:
- Faster and easy integration with multiple applications
- Users to perform CRUD and search operations on OIPA entities
- Lighter payload
- Self-discovery
- Real-time data exchange
- Data security
- Mobile integration
The Service Layer application is implemented as a multi-tier J2EE-based server-side application. The business logic and data access have been developed and maintained as independent layers that run inside a single Java Virtual Machine (JVM). The REST (JAX-RS) and Spring framework is used as a component container to assemble the components together and to access available services across the layers.
OIPA RESTFul Service APIs make it easy to develop, integrate, and use modern REST interfaces for OIPA data. These APIs use HTTP requests to GET data to OIPA resources, such as Policy, Client, Segment, and GroupCustomer and return any results formatted using JSON.
This release uses GET services allowing clients to only read OIPA data in a uniform, consistent, and secured manner. The Service Layer APIs are cataloged using Swagger documentation. The Swagger editor is part of Service Layer deployable and can be accessed to unwrap the features and URL structures to access and integrate with APIs.
For more information on Service Layer APIs, see OIPA Service Layer RESTFul API Overview.
Enhancements
Group Customer Enhancements
MaintainRelationship BR Enhancement
This enhancement supports the use of Activity Sequence and MaintainRelationship BR in the same transaction. Before this enhancement, Maintain Relationship BR used activity sequence to control its internal processing. Therefore, it could not be used with an activity that also uses Activity Sequence for creating activities.

This enhancement will improve usability by only displaying the applicable relationship type tabs. In addition, Clients can now be members of multiple Group Customers.

Group Customer Alternate Name
The Group Customer Alternate Name screen has been enhanced to include data filtering fields. This will allow the end user to narrow down the number of records displayed based on the entered criteria.
- CopyGroupCustomerPlan EffectiveDate Warning: A warning will be given if a copied Group Customer’s Plan is entered with an effective date earlier than the original Group Customer’s effective date. The user will receive the warning and then decide if they want to proceed or re-enter the plan effective date.

Other Enhancements
Reverse / Reapply Activity Sequence Enhancement
This enhancement provides the ability to reverse or reapply the activities spawned using activity sequence. It allows the reversal of the entire activity sequence and triggers the shadow/reversal of all the activities in the sequence in opposite order in which they were originally executed (last processed = first reversed). The reversal/reapply supports activities created within same object level (example: client) or across object levels (example: Client to Policy).
Control User Access from Different Machines
This feature places the limits on a user's access to the OIPA system from multiple machines and multiple browsers. The system allows a user to create multiple sessions to the same environment using the same security credentials. These sessions can be on the same browser, different browsers and different machines, but this feature may limit multiple sessions from any number of machines or multiple browsers from the same machine.
Exposed Computation to Serialize a Return of a Nest of Collections
OIPA allows Math sections to build a data structure of key/value pairs. The value of any key may itself contain a structure of key/value pairs. Since this complex data structure can be constructed in Math, OIPA will include them in the ability to serialize return messages to external systems.
