A MapToDiam PTR is allocated for every pending
MAP-to-Diameter transaction. The size of the PTR size is engineered based on an
average transaction holding size. If the PTRs become depleted, no new
transactions can be processed by the MD-IWF application.

Determine if there are long delays in the Diameter
or SS7 networks. PTR pool exhaustion can be reduced or eliminated by reducing
the MAP timer values.
