Serial Port Console Redirection

Serial Port Console Redirection Option
Description
EMS Console Redirection
Enables or disables (default) console redirection for Windows Emergency Management Service (EMS) administration.
Console Redirection
Enables (default) or disables console redirection, which redirects the host initialization console output to an RS-232 serial interface. You can obtain output independently of using ILOM.
Terminal Type
Specifies the emulation for the terminal.
  • VT100 – ASCII character set.

  • VT100+ – Extends VT100 to support color, function keys.

  • VT-UTF8 – Uses UTF8 encoding to map Unicode characters into one or more bytes.

  • ANSI – Extended ASCII character set.

Bits Per Second
Specifies the serial port transmission speed that matches the speed of the connecting serial device. Long or noisy lines require lower speeds.

Data Bits
Specifies the data bits you want to transfer in a single write to the host console.

Parity
Sends a parity bit with the data bits to detect some transmission errors.

  • Even – Parity bit is 0 if the number of 1s in the data bits is even.

  • Odd – Parity bit is 0 if the number of 1s in the data bits is odd.

  • Mark – Parity bit is always 1. Does not allow error detection. Use as an additional data bit.

  • Space – Parity bit is always 0. Does not allow error detection. Use as an additional data bit.

Stop Bits
Indicates the end of a serial data packet. Communication with slow devices may require more than 1 stop bit.

Flow Control
Prevents data loss from buffer overflow by using two wires to send start and stop signals. When sending data, if the receiving buffers are full, you can send a stop signal to stop the data flow. After the buffers are empty, send a start signal to restart the flow.

Network Stack Configuration

Description
Network Stack
Enables (default) the UEFI network stack and prevents users from performing single-user network boots and network installations. If disabled, the host does not use the network interface.
IPv4 PXE Support
Enables (default) IPv4 PXE Boot support. If disabled, the IPv4 PXE Boot Option is not created.
IPv4 HTTP Support
Enables IPv4 HTTP Boot support. If disabled (default), the IPv4 HTTP Boot Option is not created.
IPv6 PXE Support
Enables IPv6 PXE Boot support. If disabled (default), the IPv6 PXE Boot Option is not created.
IPv6 HTTP Support
Enables IPv6 HTTP Boot support. If disabled (default), the IPv6 HTTP Boot Option is not created.
PXE Boot Wait Time
Specifies the wait time to press the ESC key to abort the PXE boot. Default is 0.
Media Detect Count
Specifies the number of times the presence of physical storage devices are verified on a system reset or power cycle. Default is 1.

Enables (default) or disables video card support. If disabled, onboard video is used.

Trusted Computing 2.0


Note -  The trusted computing 2.0 options are available only when you enable the Security TPM Device Support option.
Trusted Computing 2.0 Option
Description
Security TPM Device Support
Enables or disables (default) Trusted Platform Module (TPM) support. If disabled, the OS does not show the TPM device and the TCG EFI protocol and INT1A interface are not available. After ? TPM, reset the platform.
Active PCR Banks (Read only)
Displays active Platform Configuration Register (PCR) banks with secure storage and security metrics to detect changes to previous configurations, and specifies the boot order.
Available PCR Banks (Read only)
Displays available Platform PCR banks.
SHA-1 PCR Bank (Read only)
Displays if the SHA-1 PCR bank is enabled or disabled.
SHA256 Bank (Read only)
Displays if the SHA256 PCR bank is enabled or disabled.
Pending Operation
Schedules an operation for the security device.

Note -  Your computer reboots during restart to change the state of a security device.

Disk Freeze Lock Settings

Description
Disk Freeze Lock
Enables or disables (default) disk freeze lock, which prevents disks from being sanitized. Disk types include NVMe and M.2.

PCH SATA Configuration

Description
SATA Controller
Enable (default) or disable SATA controller.
Configure SATA As
Configure SATA as AHCI (default) or RAID.
SATA Test Mode
Enable or disable (default) SATA test mode.
SATA RSTe Boot Info
Enable (default) to provide full int13h support for SATA controller attached devices.

Note -  This option is available only if Configure SATA as is set to RAID.

SATA Mode Options
SATA HDD Unlock
Enable (default) or disable SATA HDD unlock.
SATA LED Locate
Enable (default) or disable SATA LED locate.
Support Aggressive Link Power Management
Enable (default) allows the SATA host bus adapter to enter a low power state during periods of inactivity to save energy.
Alternate Device ID on RAID
Enable or disable (default) an alternate device ID on RAID devices.

Note -  This option is available only if Configure SATA as is set to RAID.

Load EFI Driver for RAID
Enable or disable (default) Load EFI driver in RAID mode.

Note -  This option is available only if Configure SATA as is set to RAID.

NVRAM Cycle Router 0 Enable
Enable or disable (default) cycle router 0 for NVRAM Remapping engine.
NVRAM CR0 PCIE Root Port Number
Select a RootPort that is enabled for router cycle 0 for the NVRAM engine.

SATA Port 0 Software Reserve
Port 0
Enable (default) or disable the SATA port.

Enable (default) or disable reporting when the device has a mechanical presence switch.

Processor Configuration

Processor Configuration Option
Description
Hyper-Threading All
Enable (default) or disable Hyper Threading. When enabled, two threads are available per enabled core. When disabled, only one thread per enabled core is available.
Active Processor Cores
Number of cores to enable in each processor package.
A minimum of one up to the maximum number of cores available in the processor package.

SNC
Enable, disable (default), or auto to set the sub-NUMA cluster (SNC).
Hardware Prefetcher
Enable (default) or disable the mid-level cache (MLC) streamer prefetcher (MSR 1A4h bit [0]).

Enable (default) or disable the mid-level cache (MLC) streamer prefetcher (MSR 1A4h bit [1]).
DCU Streamer Prefetcher
Enable (default) or disable DCU streamer prefetcher, which is a L1 data cache prefetcher (MSR 1A4h [2]).

Enable (default) or disable DCU IP prefetcher, which is a L1 data cache prefetcher (MSR 1A4h [3]).
Intel Virtualization Technology
When enabled (default), a Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) can utilize the additional hardware capabilities provided by Intel Virtualization Technology.
Stale AtOS
Enable or disable (default) stale A to S Dir optimization.
LLC Dead Line Alloc
Enable (default) to fill dead lines in LLC. Disable to never fill dead lines in LLC.
XPT Prefetch
Enable (default) or disable XPT Prefetch.

Memory Configuration

Memory Configuration Option
Description
NUMA
Enable (default) or disable non-uniform memory access (NUMA) for faster memory access, where memory is local to the processor and not controlled by a different processor.
MMIO High Granularity Size
Select the allocation size used to assign memory-mapped I/O (MMIO) resources. Total MMIO space can be a maximum of 32x granularity.

EHCI Handoff
Enable or disable (default) Enhanced Host Controller Interface (EHCI) hand-off support. This is a workaround for operating systems without EHCI hand-off support. The EHCI change of ownership must be claimed by the EHCI driver.
Port 60/64 Emulation
Enable (default) or disable I/O port 60h/64h emulation support. Enable this setting for the complete USB keyboard legacy support for non-USB aware operating systems.
Rear Port
Enable (default) or disable the USB rear port.
Internal Port #0
Enable (default) or disable USB internal port 0.

RAM Disk Configuration

RAM Disk Configuration Option
Description
Disk Memory Type
Specifies the type of memory to use from the available memory pool in system to create a disk.
Boot Service Data

Creates a blank RAM disk by allocating a portion of the host memory to appear as a disk, which is a bootable image if the disk contains a valid boot image.
Size (hex)
Enter a valid RAM disk size. The disk size should be multiples of the RAM disk block size.

iSCSI Initiator Name
Worldwide unique name of the iSCSI Initiator. Only the iSCSI Qualified Name (IQN) format is accepted.
