Entering Continuity Set Information (WCNT)

Overview: A continuity set item comprises a series of items that are sold together, but delivered at regular intervals. Intervals can be days or months.

Unit demand (continuity program ordered) is tracked at the component item level and continuity set level.

Example: The continuity program is made up of 12 different types of flowers that will be delivered every month for one year. Someone orders the “Flower of the month” continuity program for $200.00. Units ordered for the flower continuity set increases by 1, units for flowers increase by 12 (for each month). Dollars ordered increases for either the continuity item or the components, depending on whether the customer is charged at first ship or at each interval. Charging at first shipment tracks dollars on the continuity item and not the component. Charging at each interval tracks dollars and units at the component level.

Set component upload: After you create the Continuity master item and the Continuity Header, you can use the set component upload option to create continuity set components. See Importing Set Components (WinRetail Integration/WCUP) for information.

Field

Description

Charge type

A code that represents when to charge the customer.

Charge at first shipment: the continuity item is priced using the regular pricing hierarchy, and the components are added at no charge using the Default Price Override Reason (B35).

Charge at each shipment: each component item is priced using the regular pricing hierarchy, and the continuity item is added at no charge using the Default Price Override Reason (B35).

The continuity item always bills with the first shipment; this setting determines whether the amount billed for the continuity item is zero.

Note: The screen does not require you to specify a charge type; however, if you do not, both the components and the continuity item will be priced using the regular pricing hierarchy.

Required.

Interval type

A code that represents the interval or time between delivery of continuity component items. The system uses this interval type to determine the arrival date to assign to components, indicating when each component is eligible to ship.

Days: Add the number of days specified by the Interval field, minus one, to the current date to determine the arrival date for the component. For example, if the Interval is 15 and the current date is 8/1, the arrival date is 8/15.

Months: Add the number of months specified in the Interval field, minus one, to the current date to determine the arrival date for the component. The system uses 30 days for each month. For example, if the interval is 12 and the current date is 8/13, the arrival date is 7/9 of the next year (30 * 11, or 330 days, added to the current date).

Note: The screen does not require you to specify an Interval type; however, if you do not, all of the components are added to the order using the current date as the arrival date.

Required.

Item

Item to add to the order as part of the continuity program. Validated against the Item table.

Alphanumeric, 12 positions.

Create screen: required.

Change screen: display-only.

SKU

The SKU elements used to further define the item.

Create screen: required (if SKUed item).

Change screen: display-only.

Qty

The number of units of this item to add to the order.

Numeric, 5 positions; required.

Interval

The number of days or months to delay until this item is eligible to ship. Used together with the Interval type to calculate the arrival date for the order line.

The system calculates the arrival date as described above under the Interval type.

Numeric, 5 positions; required.

CG # (Continuity Coordinate Group Number)

A group number you can assign to certain component items in the continuity program to ensure that they ship together. Items with the same coordinate group number should also have the same interval.

Numeric, 2 positions; optional.

The total quantity currently available for the component item.

Note: If you advanced to this screen from the Display Item/Warehouse Information Screen, the available quantity reflects the selected warehouse only; otherwise, the quantity reflects all allocatable warehouses.
