Electronic Gift Certificate Pay Type (G72)

Purpose: Use this screen to define the credit card pay type that represents the electronic gift certificate pay type.

Number field: Enter a valid credit card pay type number in this field to represent the electronic gift certificate pay type.

Valid credit card pay types (pay category Credit Card) are listed. An error message indicates if you enter a number that is not a valid credit card pay type.

Electronic gift certificates are paperless certificates that can be used as payment for an order. Electronic gift certificates are similar to credit cards - the customer tells the operator the gift certificate number and the operator adds the electronic gift certificate pay type with the gift certificate number to the order.

When you enter the electronic gift certificate pay type on an order the system displays the Display Electronic Gift Certificate Window, which tells you the dollar amount remaining for the gift certificate that you can use as payment for an order.

Leave this field blank if you do not want a credit card pay type to represent an electronic gift certificate pay type.
