Joining an existing Promotion Group

A call center agent can start with a quote or order line and associate that line item to an existing promotion group using Join Promotion Group view.

An account's service can join a promotion group based on the following criteria:

  1. Promotion group ownership Type (Across Organizations, Account Hierarchy and Customer Account.)
  2. Promotion group's access control rules.
  3. The account that has been picked in the join promotion group applet.

To join promotion group

  1. Navigate to Accounts screen, then Accounts List view.
  2. Find the account for subscriber who is requesting an operation involving the promotion group and click the link in the Account Name field. The Account Summary view appears.
  3. Update the Customer Dashboard by performing the following steps:
    1. Click View menu for Siebel application.
    2. Choose Update Customer Dashboard menu option.
  4. Create a quote or an order for this Account.

For more information about creating a quote, see Siebel Order Management Guide.

  5. Create the Service line item (that needs to be associated to the promotion group) in the quote or order.

For more information about adding Line Items to a Quote or an Order, see Siebel Order Management Guide.

  6. Navigate to Join Promotion Group view.
  7. Click the account picker to select the account that owns the promotion group in the Join Promotion Group applet.

NOTE:  You can also type the account name directly in the account picker in Join Promotion Group applet.

The applet will display the list of memberships that can be associated with the Service line item. Note that this list also considers the projected asset cache. The following rules are applied to determine the memberships that will be displayed in the applet:

    • If the line item service product is not part of the membership domain products, the membership product will not be displayed.
    • If the line item service product is part of the membership domain products,
      • if the Customer Dashboard account is Promotion Group Owner, then all the eligible membership will be displayed.
      • if the Customer Dashboard account is not Promotion Group Owner, then the following matrix will be applied.

      • If quantity in use has reached to Max cardinality, then the Associate button is disabled indicated by encircled (in Red) membership record.
