Setting Encryption on the Local Database Password

You can encrypt the local database password.

To set encryption on the local database password

  1. Make sure the Siebel Server and the parameters in the configuration file are configured to allow for encryption.

For more information, see Process of Configuring Encryption and Authentication for the Remote Client.

  2. When you run a database extract, set the following parameter to TRUE:

Encrypt client Db password (alias EncryptLocalDbPwd)

NOTE:  Password encryption interferes with project checkin and checkout. If the developer checks projects in and out, then you must not use password encryption in the remote client. When you run a database extract, do the following, set EncryptLocalDbPwd to FALSE.
