Section - 6 : Text Areas graphics were not redacted in MRO, RTF and EPT output
What changed?
Mobile (MRO), Rich Text Format (RTF) and EPT output generated by Documaker will now redact graphic objects in text areas for recipients who are not allowed to view the graphic object (based on redact settings in the Application Definition file in the workspace).
Before the change, redact tags were ignored. The graphic object in the text area was visible to all recipients in MRO, RTF and EPT output generated by Documaker.
With the change, the graphic in the text area will be redacted in the MRO, RTF and EPT generated by Documaker for those recipients who are not entitled to see it.
There is no impact to the other output types such as PCL, PDF, etc. as they had honored the redact tags.
Why did it change?
Graphic objects in a text area were not being redacted in Mobile (MRO), Rich Text Format (RTF) and EPT output generated by Documaker. This meant the graphic in the text area was visible to all recipients of MRO, RTF and EPT output generated by Documaker when it should have been visible to only those recipients who had the redact tag defined in the Application Definition file in the workspace.
Background
The redact tag, graphic, was added to Redact Tags in the Application Definition (*.BDF) file in the workspace. The graphic redact tag was added to the Assignee recipient in the Application Definition (*.BDF) file in the workspace.
Remember, when a redact tag is assigned to a recipient, that data is not redacted (obscured) for that recipient. When a redact tag is not assigned to a recipient, that data is redacted (obscured) in the output for that recipient.
The redact tag, graphic, was assigned to the graphic in a text area in a section. MRO, RTF and EPT output was generated for all recipients. Since the only recipient in the Application Definition File in the workspace with the redact tag graphic assigned to it was Assignee, the MRO, RTF and EPT output should have redacted the graphic in the text area for all recipients except the Assignee recipient. Bug, the graphic wasn’t redacted in the MRO, RTF and EPT output. This meant that the graphic was visible for all recipients in the MRO, RTF and EPT output.
How does this change affect you?
This change would affect you if
- You have graphics in text areas AND
- Redact tag is assigned to graphics in the text areas AND
- You generate MRO, RTF or EPT output
For example, the text area “TEXTAREA” contains the graphic “JANEDOE”. The mobile output generated prior to the fix includes ‘JANEDOE” graphic for both the Assignee recipient
and for recipients other than Assignee (such as Insured):
In 12.6.2, the graphic is only included (visible) in the MRO output for the Assignee recipient:
The graphic is not included in MRO output for the other recipients:
Are modifications needed to my setup for this change to take effect?
There are no changes needed to your configuration or resources for this change to take effect.
Note: Redact functionality was added in Oracle Documaker Release 12.6.0. See the Redacting Data in Output topic in the 12.6.2 Oracle Documaker Output Management Guide and Defining Redact Tags topic in the 12.6.2 Oracle Documaker Studio User Guide for information on redaction.
