Step Two

MRL Preparation

Prerequisites

  • A current copy of your development and production MRL(s)

Note: Important: Do not use your actual development or production MRL.

Before migrating your MRL to a workspace, an analysis of your current development and production MRLS will reveal any To Dos and/or cleanup.

Some items to consider:

  • Which copy will be used to create the workspace – development, production or other?
  • Are there any changes or modifications to resources, INI files, etc. to be completed before creating the workspace?
  • Do you have any new resources that are needed in the near future? It may be faster to create them using your current tool set while you get familiar with Documaker Studio’s capabilities.
  • Have you performed unit testing to updated resources or new resources in your development system?
  • Have updated resources or new resources been deployed to your User Acceptance system?
  • Has regression, system and other required testing been performed on updated or new resources in your User Acceptance system?
  • Have the updated or new resources been deployed to your Production system?
  • Do you have a current backup of the MRL that will be used to create your Documaker Studio workspace?

Before beginning the workspace creation process, make sure that there are no other users or process that are using the MRL being used to create the workspace.

The MRL is used as the foundation to create your workspace. Workspace creation process does not delete or alter your MRL.
