Closing a Period
To close a period:
- Navigate to the Close Period Page
From the Period Home Page, select Close Period.
- (Optional) Select the Delete period for all participants tick box to remove all records of the current period. When the next period is opened, it will re-use the same period number. If the tick box is greyed out, claims have been received and the period cannot be deleted.
- (Optional) Close the Head Contractor claims period to remove the ability to add additional Subcontractors to the claims period. If additional Subcontractors must be invited, the Project Manager must reopen the period.
Selecting this option will move the period to the Pending Payment section of the Period Home Page.
This option is only available in the disabled Owner billing workflow. When Owner billing is enabled, the page does not include this option.
- Select the Close Period button.
A Status page confirms the period is closed.
Tip
Received claims for a closed period are still available for assessment as long as you do not delete the period.
Notes:
- You cannot close a period if a subcontractor has Statutory Declaration attachments. Refer to the Sub-Tiers with Attachments column on the Modify Subcontracts with Outstanding invoices table to view the sub-tiers that are impacted.
- Any subcontractor that has a Progress Claim Not Received status will be removed when the period is closed. They will be notified that they have been excluded from the period. Subcontractors can be added to a closed period if applicable.
See Manage Period Participants for Head Contractors for more information.
