Subcontractor and Sub-Tier Types Recognized by Textura
Textura recognizes three types of Sub-Tier organizations.
On-System Sub-Tiers
On-System Sub-Tiers accept project participation and complete billing activities in Textura.
They use Textura to:
- Accept assigned subcontracts to confirm project participation.
- Submit invoices during a defined draw period.
- Sign AIA documents and lien waivers when submitting invoices.
- Receive ACH payments.
Notes:
- Lien waiver signatures remain hidden from until the disbursing organization releases funds.
- Sixty percent of California General Contractors using Textura have tracked On-System Sub-Tiers.
Lien Waiver Only Sub-Tiers
Lien Waiver Only Sub-Tiers have Textura accounts to sign lien waivers, but they do not submit or track their billing in Textura.
Lien Waiver Only Sub-Tiers:
- Submit invoices and billing information outside Textura.
- Receive prompts to sign lien waivers in Textura.
- Receive payment outside Textura from you or the Prime Subcontractor.
Note: The Prime Subcontractor can see lien waiver signatures immediately. After the Prime Subcontractor approves a waiver, your organization receives an approval task and can see the Sub-Tier’s signature during approval.
Manual Sub-Tiers
Manual Sub-Tiers do not use Textura. Prime Subcontractors record their payments and supplies during billing.
Manual Sub-Tiers:
- Do not have Textura accounts.
- Are listed in Textura for tracking purposes.
- Provide signed lien waivers outside Textura. You or the Prime Subcontractor upload them for tracking.
- Receive payment outside Textura from your organization or the Prime Subcontractor.
