Setup Invoice Codes for Subcontractors
Use the Setup Invoice Codes page to set up invoice codes to sort, group, and subtotal lines on the invoice on the application. The ability to use these codes depends on which documents the General Contractor chose under the Document Settings section of the Project Settings page.
- Invoice Codes allow you to sort, group, and subtotal Schedule of Values (SoV) lines within one invoice. Use them to organize billing by floor, area, construction phase, trade, or original scope and change orders. After you assign invoice codes to SoV lines, the generated G703 continuation sheet displays the groups and subtotals based on your selected document settings.
For example, to subtotal billing by floor within one invoice, create invoice codes for Floor 1, Floor 2, and Floor 3, then assign each SoV line to the applicable floor. The Owner receives one G702/G703 invoice with separate subtotal groups for the floors on the G703 continuation sheet.
- Breakout Codes allow you to generate separate invoice documents under one contract. Use them to separate billing by building, funding source, ownership entity, project or cost center, or work program. After you assign breakout codes to SoV lines, TPM generates a cumulative invoice for the contract and a separate G702/G703 invoice for each breakout code.
For example, if the Owner requires separate invoice documents for the main building and parking garage, create a breakout code for each building and assign the applicable SoV lines. TPM generates a separate G702/G703 invoice for each building and a cumulative invoice for the contract.
- Handling CodesĀ are created to pull specific information into customized invoice (pay application) documents.
