Rejecting an Editor-Created Document Template

As a Documents user with Publisher permissions, you can reject a document template if you disagree with its formatting or content.

Note: If you need to reject a legacy document, you need to complete a service request. See Creating a Service Request for more information.

To reject a document template:

  1. Navigate to the Documents Page
  2. From the Document Library, select the desired document template that was submitted for publishing and select Review.

    The document's properties display.

  3. If the selected properties look correct, click Continue.

A Review drawer opens on the right side of the page.

  4. From the Review drawer, choose to use Generic Data or My Organization Data.

Note: If you select My Organization Data, you will need to complete additional steps. If you use Generic Data, you can proceed to step six in these instructions.

  5. Select a project, contract, and draw from the available drop-down lists.
  6. (Recommended) Review both a final and in-progress version of the document. You can also choose to view notarization elements that may be conditionally displayed.
  7. Select Review.

A message displays, informing you Textura is generating a preview. The preview then opens in a dialog box and reflects the options you previously chose from the Review drawer.

  8. Select Reject.

A Reject Publish Request drawer opens.

  9. In the Reject Publish Request drawer, enter a comment to explain your reasoning for the rejection.
  10. Select Reject.
    • The drawer closes and the document template's status changes from In Review to Draft in the Documents Library.
    • A user with the Editor role can update the document and then send it for review again.
    • When a rejection exists for a document template, a Comment Bubble icon displays in the Last Updated column. You can select the icon to open a drawer to view the rejection history of the document template. This history includes the date of the rejection, the name of the user who rejected the document template, and the rejection comment included at the time of rejection.
