Release 8.1 Features

The following table describes the Release 8.1 features for Oracle Communications Session Delivery Manager and Report Manager and Route Manager co-products, and where they are documented.

Oracle Communications Session Delivery Manager Features

Feature Description Where Documented
Lawful Intercept (LI) Configuration Encryption

User group privileges that are assigned to either the administrators or LIAdministrators user groups inherit most of the same access privileges. However, users assigned to the LIAdministrators user group have full configuration privileges to manage the Configure LI element (Lawful Intercept) in the Device configuration subfolder within the Configuration folder in the Configuration tab. Users assigned to administrators, provisioners and monitors default user groups do not have privileges to configure the Configure LI element.

If LI encryption is enabled on the device, LI configuration values become encrypted on both the devices and OCSDM.

Changes were made to the Apply User Group Privileges for Configuration section in the Security Manager chapter of the Oracle Communications Session Delivery Manager Administration Guide.

The LI feature description also appears in the Oracle Communications Session Delivery Manager Security Guide.

Small Footprint and Easy Installation

The Easy-Install option is provided for an OCSDM server installation that has specific, simplified setup options. The Easy-Install option can be used to deploy an OCSDM instance with basic configuration options to run Oracle Communications Session Element Manager and Oracle Communications Route Manager.

The Headless Installation of Oracle Communications Session Delivery Manager is a fast, simplified installation process that runs without the setup application by specifying the user_setup.properties file and running a setup script that points to this file. When you run the setup script, OCSEM is installed on your server.

The Easy Installation and Headless Installation chapters were added to the Oracle Communications Session Delivery Manager Installation Guide.
ACP Basic Authentication The ACP Basic Authentication feature provides enhanced security for communication between Oracle Communications Session Element Manager (OCSEM) plug-ins and the devices they manage. In order to take advantage of this feature, you must configure Transport Layer Security (TLS) certificates in OCSDM. OCSEM plug-ins provide management support for devices that use basic remote user access authentication to facilitate Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) for ACME Control Protocol (ACP) communication. There is no new user documentation for this feature. However, refer to the Configure Transport Layer Security Certificates section of the Oracle Communications Session Delivery Manager Installation Guide for more information about configuring TLS entity or trusted Certified Authority (CA) certificates.
REST API Additional REST API examples are added to the OCSDM REST API for Session Delivery Manager. Also, existing URI titles were improved for clarity and URI descriptions were improved or added where missing.

With the introduction of OCSDM, Release 8.0, the SOAP API client is provided for backwards compatibility only. The SOAP API will not support any new APIs for new OCSDM enhancements. Use the REST API for Oracle Communications Session Delivery Manager for access to new OCSDM features via a programmatic API.

Refer to the REST API for Session Delivery Manager Release 8.1 for more information.
Coherence replacement of Hazelcast Oracle Coherence is an in-memory data grid solution that enables OCSDM to predictably scale mission-critical applications by providing fast access to frequently used data. Refer to the Check Firewall Settings section of the Oracle Communications Session Delivery Manager Installation Guide for Coherence port information.
