Catering Codes

The Catering Codes screen lets you set up standard codes to be used throughout the Catering module, along with their descriptions and language translations. To access the Catering Codes screen, select Configuration > Catering > Catering Codes. The Catering Codes screen appears.

Search Criteria

Code Type. Select a code type. The codes for the selected code type will be displayed in the grid. The LOV is hard coded to include Room Setup, Room Rates, Menu Servings, Item Rates and Container. The codes configured here are not property specific.

• SETUP: Room Setup – Configure the setup styles that are available for all the function space.
• RATE: Room Rates – Configure the room rate codes that are available for all the function space.
• SERVING: Menu Serving – These 2 options (Per Person and Per Table) are hard-coded and cannot be added to. One or the other is required when configuring a composed menu.
• ITEMRATE: Item Rates – Configure the item rate codes that are available for all resource items.
• CONTAINER: Menu Item Container – Configure the containers that are available for all menu items.

Grid

Code. Code entry for the record. These will usually be 2- or 3-letter codes.

Description. Description of the code. This information is usually displayed on the Event Order, Contract or Report.

Web. An X in this column indicates that the code is bookable via web site. Available when the Webservices Sales & Catering WCS_XXX or the Webservices Conference Center WCC_XXX license code is active or just the Blocks>Web Function Space Config application parameter is set to Y.

Adding and Editing Catering Codes

To add a new code, select the appropriate code type in the Code Type field. Select the New button. To edit an existing code, highlight your choice in the Catering Codes grid and select the Edit button. The Catering Codes - New/Edit screen appears.

Code. Enter the code. Once a code has been saved, this field cannot be changed.

Description. Enter the description of the code. Select the globe icon to provide translations of this description.

Sequence. Enter a sequence number that determines the position of this code in lists. Codes without a sequence number assigned are displayed in alphabetical order following those codes that have a sequence number assigned.

Display in Directory. Available for SETUP type catering codes. Select this check box if this setup style catering code is to appear on the Convention/Meeting Rooms tab of the Property Configuration screen. (The first 5 SETUP type catering codes are displayed on the Convention/Meeting Rooms tab.)

Bookable via Web Site. When the license codes Webservices Sales & Catering WCS_XXX or the Webservices Conference Center WCC_XXX are active or the Blocks>Web Function Space Config application parameter is set to Y, the Bookable via Web Site option is available for selection when configuring SETUP type (Function Setup Styles) catering codes. Select this check box to indicate that the configured setup style is bookable via the website. A catering code labeled WEB for catering code types RATE and ITEMRATE is also configurable as Bookable via Web Site.

When Bookable via Web Site is selected, the Setup Time and Setdown Time options allow you to specify setup and setdown times, in minutes, for the setup style.
