IRS Efile
The IRS Efile Header screen is accessed by selecting the IRS button from the Property Configuration screen. This button is available when the Country Mode for the property is set to US and the General>1099 Reporting application function is set to Y.
This screen collects property-specific information that is needed to prepare the IRS Tax export files for reporting commissions payments to the IRS, and, when the OPV_<version number> OPERA Vacation Ownership System license is active, for reporting vacation unit owner revenues to the IRS.
Name. Name of the transmitter.
Name Contd. Any additional information that may be part of the name.
Company. Transmitter's company name.
Company Contd. Any additional information that may be part of the company name.
Address. Transmitter's street address.
City. City portion of the address.
State. State portion of the address. Select the down arrow to make your choice.
Zip Code. Postal zip code portion of the address.
Contact Name. Name of the person to be contacted if the IRS encounters problems with the file/transmission.
Phone. Contact's phone number. Omit hyphens.
Email. Email address of the contact.
TIN. Transmitter's 9-digit taxpayer identification number (may be EIN or SSN).
Control Code. Five-character alphanumeric control code assigned by the IRS.
Media No. In-house magnetic media number, if a media numbering system is used.
Foreign Entity. Select this check box if the transmitter is a foreign entity.
Select one of the following check boxes:
Same as Transmitter. Select this check box if the transmitter is also the payer. Appropriate fields are auto-populated with transmitter information. Typically, the transmitter s the same as the payer.
Paying Agent. Select this check box if someone other than the transmitter is the payer.
Name. Name of the payer.
Name Contd. Any additional information that may be part of the name.
Company. Payer's company name.
Company Contd. Any additional information that may be part of the company name.
Address. Payer's street address.
City. City portion of the address.
State. State portion of the address.
Zip Code. Postal zip code portion of the address. Select the down arrow to make your choice.
Phone. Payer's phone number.
Combined Federal/State Filer. Select this check box if this payer is participating in a Combined Federal./State Filing Program.
Payer TIN. Nine-digit taxpayer identification number assigned to the payer.
Name Control. Payer name control found on the Package 1099 mail label.
Foreign Entity. Select this check box if the payer is a foreign entity.
