OWS Group Application Parameters

Highlight the OWS group and then select the Parameter option button to configure the available OWS parameters.

The following parameters are available:

Note: If the parameter value is changed from Y to N, or N to Y, the OAP Reservation service needs to be restarted. If the parameter value is set to Y and CC expiry date is passed before the guest’s arrival date, no error messages will be returned.

ALTERNATE RESORTS - This parameter will determine whether the configured alternate resort(s) will return in the QueryHotelInformation response. The available values are Y and N (active and inactive).

APPEND BLOCK NAME BEFORE RATEDESC - This parameter allows OWS to append the block name with a rate description. The available values are Y and N (active and inactive).

APPEND COMPANY NAME BEFORE RATEDESC - Set at the property level, this parameter allows a general availability request in OWS to append the company name with a rate description. The available values are Y and N (active and inactive).

ATTACH CC PROFILE - This parameter determines whether to attach the CC to the profile during a booking process. If enabled, then the credit card will be attached to the profile. If disabled, the credit card will not be attached.

CHANNEL RATE ROOM - This parameter enables the functionality to convert to the channel rate room while fetching rate awards. The available values are Y and N (active and inactive).

COMPANY COMM PREF ATTACH RESERVATION - If the parameter value is set to Y, company preferences and comments must be attached with the reservation when reservations are created through OWS. The available values are Y and N (active and inactive).

ENABLE OWS PREFERENCES FILTER - Enable pre-filtering preferences before exposing them to OWS.

EXTERNAL RESERVATION MEMBER PTS - If the parameter value set to YES, the number of points of a guest earns per night are sent via an external member system in the reservation daily elements. The available values are Y and N (active and inactive).

ON LINE CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATION - This parameter allows online credit card authorization for reservations created through OWS. The available values are Y and N (active and inactive).

OWS PROFILE MATCH - This parameter value determines whether a match process is done on profile information received from OWS Web Services. The available values are Y and N. If the parameter is set to Y, then the profile match process will be turned on. The match is done on the last name, first name, credit card number, and credit card type. If a match is found, then that profile is used. If no match is found, then a new profile will be inserted.

For GDS and ODS channel types, a profile match will not occur if the first name contains a space. For all other channel types, a profile match will occur. This is because of the way each of the channel types store the salutation and first name values. Because GDS and ODS channel types may store the salutation and first name values together, a space in the first name is treated as a salutation (Mr. Smith). For all other channel types the salutation value is stored separately, so a space in the first name is treated only as a first name (Mary Sue).

OWS SUPPRESS PASSWORD - This parameter determines whether to return the password in the response message for GeneratePassword in the Security Web Service. The available values are Y and N (active and inactive).

OWS USE HIGH SECURITY - This parameter determines whether to perform extra checks on the password in the response message for CreateUser and Update Password in the Security Web Service. The available values are Y and N (active and inactive).

PREFERENCE COMMENTS OVERLAY - If the parameter value is set to Y, during a modification, the calling system needs to provide a full overlay of the comments and preferences. The available values are Y and N (active and inactive).

REMOVE CCINFO FETCH BOOKING - This parameter is only used for the fetch booking web service function. When Set to Y, the OWS fetch booking web service will not return any credit card information in the response. All other web services will continue to return credit card information.

RETURN DAILY MEMBERSHIP POINTS - When the parameter value is set to Y, the daily membership points are returned from the reservation daily element name. The available values are Y and N (active and inactive).

SECURED MODE - When the parameter value is set to Y, each Web Service function will follow the OPERA Permissions attached to the User Credentials being passed. The available values are Y and N (active and inactive).

SEND CONFLETTER AT BOOKING - When the parameter value is set to Y, a confirmation letter is sent when a booking is made. The available values are Y and N (active and inactive).
