Profile Viewership

When the OPF<version number> SFA (Sales Force Administration) license is active, the profile viewership feature is available. (The profile viewership feature is enabled by setting the SFA> Restrict Viewership application parameter to Y.)

With profile viewership, the sales organization can limit access to account and contact profiles, and to the activities, business blocks, and potentials associated with those “restricted” accounts and contacts. The owner of an account or contact — by default, the creator of that account or contact profile — controls the access rights (viewership) to that account or contact and to any associated activities, business blocks, and potentials. The owner of the profile may add other owners to a contact profile or account profile, thereby extending viewership rights to the additional owners.

Note: To add an owner to an account or contact, use the Add Owner screen available when you select the ellipsis button next to the Owner field.

The profile viewership feature changes OPERA functionality in the following ways:

Account Search Screen. When the Account Search screen is opened, only those accounts for which you are an owner will be displayed.

Note: If the SFA>Show Restricted Accounts application parameter is set to Y, restricted accounts are shown with Restricted in the Company Name field. The primary account owner is shown in the Owner field.

Contact Search Screen. When the Contact Search screen is opened without first selecting an account (by selecting Customer Management>Contacts), contacts for which you are not designated as an owner will not be displayed.

Note: If the SFA>Show Restricted Accounts application parameter is set to Y, restricted contacts are shown with Restricted in the Name field. The primary contact owner is shown in the Owner field.

When the Contact Search screen is opened by using the Contact button on an account Profile screen, all account contacts will be listed but Restricted will appear following the contact name in the Name field for those contacts for which you are not an owner. In addition, when your cursor is positioned over a restricted contact on he Contact Search screen, the Activities, Block, Extract, Options, and Edit buttons will not be available.

Activity Search Screen. When the Activity Search screen is opened without first selecting an account or contact (by selecting Customer Management>Activities), activities which are associated with accounts or contacts for which you are not designated as an owner will have Restricted in the Contact field. In addition, when your cursor is positioned over an activity associated with a restricted contact or account on the Activity Search screen, the Edit, Copy, and Options>Delete buttons will not be available.

Potential Search Screen. When the Potential Search screen is opened without first selecting an account or contact (by selecting Customer Management>Potential), potentials which are associated with accounts or contacts for which you are not designated as an owner will have Restricted in the Name field. In addition, when your cursor is positioned over a potential associated with a restricted contact or account on the Potential Search screen, the Edit, Copy, and Delete buttons will not be available.
