Sell Messages
When the Reservations>Sell Message application parameter is set to Y, you can create sell messages to help your reservation agents secure a booking during a customer query. The sell messages can contain important selling features that the agent can read to the customer or motivational messages intended for the sales agent themselves.
In ORS, these messages appear at the CRO, chain, or property level and are useful because the agent does not have to leave the sales screen to get information about the room or property. In PMS, the messages appear on the Rate Query screen.
To set up sell messages, select Configuration>Reservations>Sell Messages menu option or select the Sell Msg. button, or ALT+L hotkey, from the Rate Code Header Tab (Setup>Configuration>Rate Management>Rate Classifications>Rate Codes). The Sell Message Maintenance screen appears.
CRO. Available when the OPR<version number>license code is active. Select the down arrow to choose the CRO to set up sell messages.
Rate Code. Select the down arrow to choose the rate code to find sell messages.
Block Code. Select the down arrow to choose the block code to find sell messages.
Start Date. Enter the start date of the sell messages you wish to find..
Sell Msg. Enter the first word or words of the sell message you wish to find.
Language Code. Select the down arrow to choose the language to find sell messages.
Room Type. Select the down arrow to choose the room type to find sell messages.
To create a new sell message, select the New button. To edit an existing sell message, highlight your choice in the Sell Message Maintenance screen and select the Edit button.
Property. Available when the OPP_MHOT Multi-property PMS add-on license is active. View only. The property for which you are setting up sell messages (your log-in property).
CRO. Available when the OPR<version number> license code is active. View only. The CRO for which you are setting up sell messages (your log-in CRO).
Message. Enter the sell message you wish to have displayed to the reservation agent, contingent on the filter options set up on this screen.
Begin Date. Start date when this sell message should be displayed to reservation agents.
End Date. Last date when this sell message should be displayed to reservation agents.
Rate Code. Select the down arrow and choose the rate code for which this sell message should be displayed.
Room Type. Select the down arrow and choose the room type for which this sell message should be displayed.
Block Code. Select the down arrow and choose the block code for which this sell message should be displayed.
Language Code. Select the down arrow and choose the language code for the sell message. If a code is specified, this sell message will only appear if the language code matches that under which the user is logged in.
