Creating Storage Domains

When creating a storage domain using the Oracle Enterprise Manager for Flash Storage Systems, you can name the new storage domain, select the background process priority, enable tier reallocation, and enable tier reallocation statistics collection.

The Oracle FS System Manager provides the same capabilities as the Oracle Enterprise Manager for Flash Storage Systems. In addition, you can use the Oracle FS System Manager to perform the following tasks:

Assign LUNs to a specific collection of Drive Enclosures in an Oracle FS System
Enable automatic QoS rebalancing
Configure auto-tier scan options
Specify LUN storage capacity

Based on the advanced storage domain capabilities that are available with the Oracle FS System Manager, Oracle recommends you create a storage domain using the Oracle FS System Manager.
