KDS Chit Icons

KDS Displays show various icons that indicate check status or other information. The following table describes the icons that appear on order receipts (chits) at a standard KDS:

Icon Icon Name Description

This figure shows the VIP Order icon, which is a yellow star with a domed platter in front.

VIP Order

A VIP customer.

This figure shows the Rush Order icon, which is a stick figure running.

Rush Order

A rush order.

This figure shows the Recall icon, which is a vertical rectangle with a yellow center and a curved red arrow going across.

Recall

The order has been recalled to the display. A recalled order is an order that was previously bumped (marked complete) at a station but has been recalled to display again.

This figure shows the Void icon, which is a domed platter with a red X mark going across.

Void

The item is voided from the order.

This figure shows the First Alert icon, which is a single exclamation point.

First Alert

The order has passed the First Alert preset time limit.

This figure shows the Second Alert icon, which is two exclamation points.

Second Alert

The order has passed the Second Alert preset time limit.

This figure shows the Previous Course Indicator icon, which is a domed platter with a red arrow pointing left.

Previous Course Indicator

The order had menu items ordered in the previous round.

This figure shows the Priority Order 1 icon, which is a square with number 1 written on the top left corner in red.

Priority Order 1

The order belongs to Priority level 1.

This figure shows the Priority Order 2 icon, which is a square with number 2 written on the top left corner in red.

Priority Order 2

The order belongs to Priority level 2.

This figure shows the Priority Order 3 icon, which is a square with number 3 written on the top left corner in red.

Priority Order 3

The order belongs to Priority level 3.

Priority Order 4

The order belongs to Priority level 4.

The order belongs to Priority level 5.

The order belongs to Priority level 8.

Priority Order Cancel

The priority assigned to the order has changed to none (cancelled).

Review

The order is being reviewed.

This figure shows the Prep Status – Inactive Order icon, which is a dash or minus sign.

Prep Status – Inactive Order

Each icon on the chit header represents a Prep Station that the order is not active on.

This figure shows the Prep Status – Active Order icon, which is a circle without color filled in.

Prep Status – Active Order

Each icon on the chit header represents a Prep Station that the order is active on.

This figure shows the Prep Status – Done icon, which is a black circle.

Prep Status – Done

Each icon on the chit header represents a Prep Station that has marked the order Done on that Prep Station.

Magenta border

Marked/Parked Order

The order is marked (parked) and cannot be bumped.

Cancelled Order

The order was cancelled. This icon only appears when using DOM mode.

This figure shows the item Sent icon, which is an arrow pointing right.

Item Sent (from POS)

The item has been sent to the Expo Display, but not to the Prep Station. The icon appears on the Expo Display.

This figure shows the Item Fired icon, which is a dash or minus sign.

Item Fired

The item has fired to the Prep Station. The icon appears before the item name.

This figure shows the Item Started icon, which is a circle without color filled in.

Item Started

The item is being prepared. The icon appears before the item name.

This figure shows the Item Done icon, which is a green circle.

Item Done

The item is marked as Done.

This figure shows the Item Marked/Parked icon, which is a hand pointing right.

Item Marked/Parked

The item is marked (parked), and cannot be bumped.

This figure shows the Item Selected icon, which is a green check mark.

Item Selected

The item is selected.

This figure shows the Item Recalled icon, which is a curved red arrow.

Item Recalled

The item has been recalled to the display.
