Manually Auto-Create a BP Record
You can create data elements (DEs) that automatically create a business process (BP) based on a condition, such as a dollar amount, or a time frequency, such as daily or weekly.
You can use multiple BP creators on a single BP to create different types of BPs.
When the BP reaches the condition or frequency trigger in the workflow, the BP creator element on the form automatically creates a BP. For example, you could create a DE using this definition called Work Order Creator that generates work orders for your company's assets at periodic intervals depending on the service needs of the asset.
The visibility and behavior of DEs created using the BP Creator definition depend on the Enable condition based on auto creation checkbox in the BP setup:
- If unchecked: the BP Creator DE appears on the source BP form as a text box with a Create button.
- If checked: the DE appears as a read-only text box and triggers automatic creation of a new BP record based on defined conditions.
After a new BP record is auto-created, the DE will display as a hyperlink on the source BP that directs to the destination BP, but only if the Show reference as hyperlink checkbox is selected in uDesigner.
Tapping the hyperlink opens the auto-created destination BP record. If you receive a permission error, contact your administrator for access.
Note: You can manually trigger the auto-creation of a BP record in offline mode. The record will be automatically created when the offline source record syncs. If you receive an error that the BP has not been set up after your device syncs, contact your administrator.
