You can view a summary of project finances for the entire project and for the fiscal year from the Summary tab. You can also see the variance between Plan or Actual values and your selection of Forecast or Snapshot values. For projects using the double-view template, you can select either Forecast or Snapshot when calculating variances. For projects using the single-view template, you can only use Snapshot to calculate variance.
The Finance Summary page displays the following information:
- Finance Calculations: Displays the financial calculations specified for your project such as the Net Present Value (NPV), Internal rate of Return (IRR) and Return on Investment (ROI). This section is visible only if it is enabled in the financial template by your administrator.
- Current Fiscal Year: Provides totals for the current fiscal year, to date.
- Category: The finance categories that are configured in your finance template by your administrator. Each category can have multiple subcategories.
- View: For projects using the double-view template, both the Plan and Actual values are displayed. For projects using the single-view template, the finances are not separated as Plan and Actual, but are displayed on a single column labeled Finances.
- Variances: For projects using the double-view template, you can view the variance between Forecast or Snapshot values and Actual or Plan values. For projects using the single view template, you can only use Snapshot to calculate variance.
- Project Totals: Provides totals for the project as a whole (not time-limited).
- Category: The finance categories that are configured in your finance template by your administrator. Each category can have multiple subcategories.
- View: For projects using the double-view template, both the Plan and Actual values are displayed. For projects using the single-view template, the finances are not separated as Plan and Actual, but are displayed on a single column labeled Finances.
- Variances: For projects using the double-view template, you can view the variance between Forecast or Snapshot values and Actual or Plan values. For projects using the single view template, you can only use Snapshot to calculate variance.
- Finance Validation: This section shows the number of finance validations that were requested and the status of the validation.
Note: Some of the finance terms listed above may be renamed in your EnterpriseTrack configuration.
To view project financial summary:
- Navigate to the Projects Finances page by selecting (Project #) > Go To > Finances, or clicking the Finances link on the Left Navigation bar within a particular project.
- Click the Summary tab.
- To view the variances: select an option from the Variance drop-down menu.
