Release Notes

Release 19.0

F25858-01

January 2020

This document highlights the major changes for Release 19.0 of Oracle Retail Xstore Office Cloud Service.

Overview

The Oracle Retail Xstore Suite has always offered a highly flexible deployment model that includes thick, thin, tablet, and handheld options at the store. Along with Xstore Office Cloud Service, Oracle provides a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering to complement the current support for central functions available on premises or hosted in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) or Platform as a Service (PaaS).

Oracle Retail Xstore Office Cloud Service (XOCS)

XOCS is the central component for the Xstore Suite available as a SaaS offering. It includes the web-based Xadmin application for retail operations management and Xcenter - a Java and JSON-based messaging framework. The Xadmin UI allows users to administer corporate-based functions such as Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service configuration setup and maintenance, file management, viewing the electronic journal, viewing store reports, and monitoring alerts for the Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service in use at the store. Xcenter provides the database, administration and services necessary to operate across the enterprise.

Oracle Retail Xstore Office Cloud Service provides for the straightforward management of the data and configurations that empower your associates. The user interface within Oracle Retail Xstore Office Cloud Service provides streamlined functionality that guides users through configuration changes, data changes, and deployments. Granular security access can create a custom experience for users of all access levels. Multiple support tools and alerts enable IT leaders to take a proactive approach to managing multiple installations.

Xstore Office Cloud Service Enhancements

The 19.0 version of Xstore Office Cloud Service includes the following enhancements:

Note:

References to the on-premises application names may exist throughout the Xstore Office Cloud Service applications and documents.

Enhanced Customization Capabilities

The following customization enhancements are included in this release.

Custom Reports

The Customizations functionality now supports the ability to customize existing base reports and add new customized reports. The custom reports can be accessed and run by using the Xstore Office Reports functionality.

Export Active Customizations

The Customizations functionality now supports the ability to export all active customizations. All active customizations are exported to a zip file and are downloadable through the browser.

Additionally, this feature has the ability to determine if there are any changes to the file contents of a new uploaded version of an existing customization file, and then bypass the upload of the file, therefore, improving the system performance and reducing the upload time. The unchanged files are displayed on the user interface to notify the user of any unchanged files that were identified during the upload process.

Enhanced Broadcaster Management

The organization can now be selected when setting up a broadcaster system. This enables the retail to manage broadcasters without logging in and out of the application. Additionally this enhancement allows each organization to maintain different broadcasters.

Enhanced Integration Management

The following integration management enhancements are included in this release.

Managing Tax Calculation Parameters for OCDS Integrations

Retailers can now set the tax calculation parameters through the integration management feature for Omni Channel Data Service (OCDS) integrations.

Mapping Xstore Office Cloud Service Organizations to Integrations

The Integration Management feature now allows retailers to view and manage their integrations on an organization level.

The mapping tab has been removed for Order Broker SFTP and REST integrations.

Customers can now map multiple OCDS chain IDs to one organization in XOCS.

User Management

The creation and maintenance of users for the application are now only managed in Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDCS). The ability to add and edit users through the Xadmin UI is no longer available. The users are synchronized from IDCS at a configurable interval.

The Xadmin UI still supports the ability to assign locales, organizations, roles and organization nodes to a user.

User Options

The User Options functionality has been enhanced to include a drop down menu so that the user can choose to Log Out of the application, Change Organization, or View Application Details (About Xadmin).

The ability to Change Organizations allows users to switch organizations without signing out of the application or ending the session for other cloud applications.

OCDS Settings in Xadmin

The Omni Channel Data Service (OCDS) settings can now be configured through the Integration Management feature.

Note:

The OCDS Settings can no longer be configured in Xadmin Settings.

Xadmin Settings

The configuration option User Account has been added to the Xadmin System Settings configurations. This setting allows you to set the user synchronization interval between Xadmin and Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDCS).

Reprint Receipts and Reports

Receipts and Reports that are associated to a transaction can now be reprinted from the Electronic Journal.

Poland Configuration Accelerator

The tax office and region codes can now be managed in Xstore Office for the Country Pack Poland.
