Modify/Update Block — Shift Block Date

UseShift Block Date to move a business block and linked events to a new arrival/state date. When a shift date is initiated, any Events associated with the booking will be updated. To ensure that the date change does not create availability conflicts, OPERA Cloud checks to ensure that rooms, function spaces and resources are available on the new date.

When the Event Waitlist OPERA Control is active and status change / shift dates, a processing screen opens with the option to waitlist or cancel the event. When Event Waitlist is not active, and status change / shift dates would cause an overbook situation (with another block); a processing screen is displayed with the appropriate message, and you are forced to cancel the current action.

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Blocks, and select Manage Block.
  2. Search for a block. From search results, click the row level I Want To . . . and select Modify/Update — Shift Block Date.
  3. Select a new start date for the business block and click Save.
