Managing Custom Items

You can manage (ad-hoc) custom menu items for events without having to first configure the menu item resource. You can report on custom menu items using the F&B Plan (rep_fbplan) report.

Adding Custom Items

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Events, and then select Manage Events.

  2. Select or confirm the Property, enter any additional search criteria, and click Search.

  3. From search results, select the event’s I Want To . . . action and select Event Resources from the Go To column.

  4. On the Event Resources screen, select an event, click the Items drawer, and click Add Custom Item.

  5. Complete the following fields:

    1. Name. This is a mandatory field. Enter the menu item name.

    2. Description. Enter a description of the menu item.

    3. Revenue Type. This is a mandatory field. Select the revenue type that should receive the accumulated revenue from this menu item.

    4. Item Class. This is a mandatory field. Select from the list of options.

    5. Departments. Enter the Department responsible for providing the menu item, if needed.

    6. Quantity of Items. Select the number of the menu item added.

    7. Price. Specify the value of the menu item if it is sold separately (not included in a menu).

    8. External Order. Select the check box if the menu item is from an outside provider.

    9. Print. Select the check box to enable printing the menu item on external documents.

  6. Click Save.

Editing Custom Items

You can edit custom items added to events. Custom Items are identified on the Event Resource screen by a check mark in the Custom column.

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Events, and then select Manage Events.

  2. Select or confirm the Property, enter any additional search criteria, and click Search.

  3. From search results, select the event’s I Want To . . . action and select Event Resources from the Go To column.

  4. On the Event Resources screen, select the event, click the Item’s vertical ellipsis, and click Edit.

  5. Make your changes and click Save.

Deleting Custom Items

You can delete custom items added to events. Custom Items are identified on the Event Resource screen by a check mark in the Custom column.

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Events, and then select Manage Events.

  2. Select or confirm the Property, enter any additional search criteria, and click Search.

  3. From search results, select the event’s I Want To . . . action and select Event Resources from the Go To column.

  4. On the Event Resources screen, select the item’s vertical ellipsis, and click Delete.

  5. Click Delete again to confirm.

Copying Custom Items

You can copy custom items added to events. Custom Items are identified on the Event Resource screen by a check mark in the Custom column.

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Events, and then select Manage Events.

  2. Select or confirm the Property, enter any additional search criteria, and click Search.

  3. From search results, select the event’s I Want To . . . action and select Event Resources from the Go To column.

  4. On the Event Resources screen, select the item and click Copy.

  5. On the Copy Resources to Other Events screen, select the Item from the Resources section, select the Event(s) you want to copy it to, and click Copy Resources.

Moving Custom Items

You can move custom items added to events. Custom Items are identified on the Event Resource screen by a check mark in the Custom column.

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Events, and then select Manage Events.

  2. Select or confirm the Property, enter any additional search criteria, and click Search.

  3. From search results, select the event’s I Want To . . . action and select Event Resources from the Go To column.

  4. On the Event Resources screen, select the Event, select the resource’s vertical ellipsis, and select Move.

  5. On the Copy Resources to Other Events screen, select the item from the Resources section and then select the event you want to move it to.

  6. Click the Move Resources button.
