Managing Business Date

Prerequisites for Managing Business Date .

At times you might want to run end of day (night audits) multiple, consecutive times to roll the business date forward several days. In such cases, you can use the Change Business Date utility to run the multiple, consecutive night audits.

To use this feature, change the proposed date to the future date you want for the property's business date. When the multi-property service is active, you can set a different business date for each property. To run the Change Business Date utility, there cannot be financial transactions posted to the property and no night audits executed.

Note:

The Multiple End of Days OPERA Control must be active and your user role must have Manage Business Date task granted in order to use this feature. The EOD Email Address OPERA Control setting should be configured with the email address of an individual to receive the final status report upon completion of the multiple end of day processes.

When reaching the Roll Business Date step, OPERA Cloud requires that all other users be logged out before the End of Day sequence rolls the business date. The utility displays a notification message to all logged in users indicating the amount of time remaining to log out.

Observe the following conditions when using the utility to consecutively run multiple end of day processes:
  • All inhouse reservations must be checked out before starting the procedure.

  • There cannot be any reservations scheduled to check in between now and the target date.

  • There cannot be any blocks with a start date between now and the target date.

  • There cannot be any reservations with open folios.

  • All prior business days must have a closed status.

  • The End of Day > Auto Continue application parameter should be set to Y.

  • All of the parameters like End of Day > Weather and Notes should be turned N for faster processing.

Note:

When running end of day in multiple mode, the End of Day > Income Audit application function is ignored.
