Checking Your Java Runtime Environment. Deleted topic. This topic described how to check the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version in Windows operating systems. Starting with Release 40, you do not need to have JRE installed in order to run the Oracle Migration Tool On Demand client on a Windows operating system. The JRE requirements for operating systems other than Windows operating systems are described in Software Requirements for Installing the Oracle Migration Tool On Demand Client.
