Use the General tab of the Formats dialog box to specify general attributes for either header or data components.
Format name box -- Specifies the name of the format. If you are editing an existing format, then this box displays the format name. If you are creating a new format, then you can either accept the default name that appears in the box or enter a new name for the format.
Format Headers for list -- Specifies the dimension members to which the format should apply. Appears only if you are formatting a header.
Background color options --Specifies any of the following background color options:
Color button -- Displays a color palette from which you select a background color.
Show data bars box -- Specifies whether data bars appear in a data cell. Appears if you are formatting data components but not if you are formatting header components.
Data bar color box -- Displays a color palette from which you select a color for the display of data bars. Appears if you are formatting data components but not if you are formatting header components.
Borders specifications -- Specifies a border specification and a color for each part of a border:
Outline box -- Specifies the style of border outline.
Outline color button -- Displays a palette from which you select a color for the border outline.
Left box -- Specifies the line style of the left border.
Left color button -- Displays a palette from which you select a color for the left border.
Right box -- Specifies the line style of the right border.
Right color button -- Displays a palette from which you select a color for the right border.
Top box -- Specifies the line style of the top border.
Top color button -- Displays a palette from which you select a color for the top border.
Bottom box -- Specifies the line style of the bottom border.
Bottom color button -- Displays a palette from which you select a color for the bottom border.
