Graph Legend Components

The following table lists components that comprise the legend of a graph. The legend provides a key to the data in the graph.

Component

Description

Graph Types

LegendArea

The legend; identifies the series and reference lines in a graph; in a 3-D surface graph, identifies ranges of values

All except 3-D graphs; 3-D surface graphs

LegendMarker

A shape of color that matches one of the series in the graph; in a 3-D surface graph, identifies a range of values

All except 3-D graphs; 3-D surface graphs

LegendText

Text, for each LegendMarker, that identifies the series; in a 3-D surface graph, labels a range of values

All except 3-D graphs; 3-D surface graphs

ReferenceLineMarker

A line whose color matches a reference line in the graph

Bar, line, area, combination, scatter, bubble, radar, and polar graphs

ReferenceLineText

Text that describes a reference line

Bar, line, area, combination, scatter, bubble, radar, and polar graphs
