The Calculation Type panel accepts input for the following items for a future value calculation:
Measure -- Select a measure or a dimension member for which you want to return the future value.
Over -- If there is more than one time dimension, then a box appears to allow the selection of the proper time dimension. Otherwise the default time dimension is used.
In -- Select the hierarchy for the specified time dimension.
From -- Choose one of the following items to indicate time periods:
Next Year -- Requests a value for the next year.
Next Period -- Requests a value for the next period.
Number of periods or years ahead box -- Requests a value from a specified number (entered in the number box) of periods ahead; also can indicate levels of time such as Year, Quarter, or Month.
Number Format -- Select one of the default number formats to use for this calculation or choose Options to specify another format.
Options -- Displays the Number Format dialog, in which you can specify a format for the calculation.
This formula is used to return the value of an item for a future time period.
An example of this calculation is:
Sales a Year from Now = Sales from September 2002 if current time is September 2001
