The Calculation Type panel accepts input for the following items for a rank calculation:
Rank -- Select the dimension used to calculate rank.
In -- Select the hierarchy to be ranked in the specified dimension.
Within -- Select one of the following items to specify the area within which the ranking is to be performed:
Total -- Represents the sum total of the level that is associated with the current member.
Parent -- Represents the parent of the current member.
Level -- Specifies the level value.
Based on -- Select a measure to serve as the basis of the ranking.
Order -- Select the sequence of the ranking: (1) Highest to Lowest; (2) Lowest to Highest.
Number Format -- Select one of the default number formats to use for this calculation or choose Options to specify another format.
Options -- Displays the Number Format dialog, in which you can specify a format for the calculation.
This type of calculation applies to measures only.
This formula is used to calculate the position, or rank, of an item in a list of sequenced item values.
An example of this calculation is:
Rank of TV Sales where DVD is 150, TV is 100, and Radio is 50, would be 2.
