Formats Dialog Box - Rules Tab

Use the Rules tab of the Formats dialog box to specify the circumstances under which a new format should apply in a table or crosstab. In the other tabs of the Formats dialog box, you specify how the cells should look. In this tab, you specify when they should look that way.

Tab components

Conditions box -- Lists the possible conditions that must be met before the formatting will apply.

Edit button -- Allows you to edit the selected condition. If the condition is a data condition (such as Sales > 2000), then this button displays the Edit Condition dialog box. For dimension conditions, this button displays the Select Members dialog box, where you can select the dimension members to which the format should apply.

Format elements box -- Specifies the formatting elements that have been set for this format, so that you can see what will be affected when the specified conditions are met. Formatting characteristics that you have changed in other tabs of this dialog box are checked in this list. You can uncheck them to undo the formatting that you set in the other tab.
