In JDeveloper, BI Beans application settings are initialized when you create
the BI Designer
object. Initially, runtime settings are identical
to design settings. To update application settings, display the BI Beans Settings
dialog box and change the desired values.
In the JDeveloper System-Navigator, right-click a BI Designer
object and choose Settings. The BI Beans Settings
dialog box is displayed. This dialog box consists of the following tabs:
Design Settings tab -- Specifies settings that are stored in the BI Designer object and are used during the design of business intelligence objects in JDeveloper.
Run Settings tab -- Specifies settings that are stored in the BI Beans Configuration file, which is used when you run or deploy your application. Before deploying a BI Beans application in JDeveloper, specify the correct runtime settings in this tab for your production environment. These settings identify the BI Beans Catalog where your objects are stored and the Catalog user, which is also referred to as the BI application user, that controls the objects that your application can access in the Catalog.
Note: In the Run Settings tab, if the Use
design settings box is checked, then design settings and run settings
are identical. Initially, when the BI Designer
is created, the
Use design settings box is set.
