What the Persistence Service Can Save and Retrieve

The persistence service can save and retrieve components that implement the Persistable interface. The Persistable interface is defined in the oracle.dss.util.persistence package.

When you save a Persistable object, that object, in turn, saves any other Persistable objects that it aggregates. For example, if you save a crosstab that displays data, then the crosstab saves the DataSource that defines the query.

You cannot save or retrieve OLAP metadata through the persistence service. If you need to retrieve OLAP metadata, then use the MetadataManager.
