metadata map

An object that contains a list of types of metadata (that is, properties of members) that can be returned for a specified member. Examples of these properties include the underlying database value of the member, different types of member labels (such as long or short labels), and, possibly, whether the member can be drilled.

Callers of methods in the data retrieval APIs can request different property sets (metadata maps) for different locations within the query. These property sets must be available for calls to methods such as getMemberMetadata.
