When you interact with the BI Beans Catalog, the following two user identities are involved:
Catalog connection user -- Owner of the Catalog schema; specified only when you are defining a JDBC connection to a Catalog in the Connection wizard.
BI application user -- An authorized Catalog user (which BI Beans uses
to create a BIUser
object for filtering or folder scoping the
Catalog view of a specific user). This user is specified in the Run Settings
tab of the BI Beans Settings dialog box and in the wizards that allow you
to copy objects to or from the remote Catalog and to browse the remote Catalog.
The following BI wizards in JDeveloper prompt you to specify both a connection to the BI Beans Catalog and an authorized Catalog user in order to interact with the Catalog:
In addition, the application settings that you enter in the BI Designer wizard are available for update in the BI Beans Settings dialog box. In the Run Settings tab of this dialog box, ensure that you specify an authorized Catalog user for running and deploying your project.
