Reset the Password for a Single User Account

To reset a password for a single user account:

  1. On the User Administration tab, select the check box for a user account.
  2. Click Reset Password.
  3. Do one of the following:
    1. Select Auto-generate the Password to send the user an email containing a link to allow them to change their own password (on IDCS) or to send an email with a temporary password (on OIM).
    2. Select Manually Change the Password to enter a new password (on IDCS) or a temporary password (on OIM).
  4. Click Reset Password.
  5. Click OK.

    Note: On IDCS, if you select the option to generate the password automatically, the link in the email that the user receives automatically expires after 60 minutes.
