For each activity sheet that you add into the Activity Sheet log, the following columns appear:

ID <label of the uuu_P6ActivityID> | pre-populated with the sequence number provided in the activity sheet properties. It should be a unique value. User should be able to edit the Activity ID or Activity Name columns data. Note: The task icon should be populated in the ID column for Activity ID. The color of the task icon should be blue (code :#359DFC) for 'Not Started' activities. Similarly the color of task icon will be orange (code : # FA9C45) for 'In Progress' activities and green (code: #02D824) for 'Completed' activities. |
Name <label of the uuu_P6ActivityName> | This should show the column as required and user have to specify the activity name. All the alpha numeric characters are allowed for the activity name. |
Start Date <label of uuu_P6StartDate> | populated with the project start date by default. User can edit the date by selecting date picker in the column. User can edit the date. For Activities which are 'In Progress' and 'Completed' , Start Date will be Actual Start Date (uuu_P6ActualStart). For any activities which are created newly once the project is scheduled on certain data date. The new activities Start Date will be by default the data date. User can edit the date before or later but cannot move the date before project start date. Upon scheduling if the activity is still not started as per the 'Data Date' then it will be rescheduled to data date. |
Finish Date <label of uuu_P6FinishDate> | populated with the project start date by default for Activities with status 'Not Started'. User can edit the date. When the sheet is not scheduled then the Data Date will be the project start date. For any activity created after the sheet is scheduled on certain data date then finish date will be defaulted to start date which is the 'Data Date'. For Activities which are 'In Progress' and 'Completed' , Finish Date will be the date from Data Date plus duration. When the sheet is not scheduled then the Data Date will be the project start date. |
Duration <label of uuu_P6Duration> | populated with duration as 1 day by default for regular Tasks/Activities and duration as 0 for the milestone activity. Duration will be updated by means of finish date changes or user can manually update the duration column. Finish date will be calculated accordingly. |
Activity Status <label of uuu_P6ActivityStatus> | This will be default with status 'Not Started' and Activity icon seen before the activity ID will be in blue color for not started activities. Explained the color codes in the above case 1) for ID. Activity Status will be changed to 'In Progress' or 'Completed' based on Activity actual start date and finish dates and the color of the Activity ID will be changed accordingly. |
Activity Type | populated with default type i.e., 'Task Dependent'. User can select other values such as 'Start Milestone' which will automatically the task to milestone with 0 duration days and 'Resource Dependent' which will honor the calendars of the associated resources/roles. Resource Dependent activities adjust to resource calendars when resources are assigned. |
Planned Start Date <label of uuu_P6PlannedStart> | Should be defaulted with Start Date(uuu_P6Start) for the activities with status 'Not Started'. When Scheduled using project scheduler all the Start and Planned Start Dates will move to the Current Data Date if they are past dates. |
Planned Finish Date <label of uuu_P6PlannedFinish> | Should be defaulted with Finish Date(uuu_P6Finish) for the activities with status 'Not Started'. When Scheduled using project scheduler all the Start and Planned Finish Date will be planned start plus duration. The task dependent activities base their duration on the working and non-working days of the activity calendar, whereas, Resource Dependent activities base their duration on the working and non-working days of the assigned resource’s calendar. When multiple resources are assigned then the Finish Date of the activity will be based on the time required by the last resource it will take to finish the same task, based on the resource calendar. You can edit the duration column in the sheet itself. This field will allow only integer type data with no negative values. Note: Calendar selected for each activity will be used to calculate finish date. |
Milestone | When the activity type is selected as 'Milestone' then that activity will be shown as milestone activity. The duration of milestone activity is always 0 and user cannot update the duration for milestone activity. The Activity Status for milestone type activity can have only two values - 'Not Started' and 'Completed' . Default value will be 'Not Started'. |
The values for the Start Date, Finish Date, and Duration columns are controlled by an automatic formula. A change to duration changes finish. A change to Finish changes Duration. A change to Start changes Finish. These fields also control the display on the Gantt chart. Their values can also change when the user manipulates the activity bar in the Gantt chart.
Similarly the activity status will be changed into 'In Progress' if the actual start date is entered . In order to edit the activity %complete (progress) user has enter the actual start date or user should be able edit activity status and when changed to in progress then actual start date should be populated with current date and %complete will become editable.
Similarly when Activity Status is changed to 'Completed' then actual start and finish date will populated with current date and % complete will be shown as 100%.
You cannot change the status to 'Not Started' if the actual start date and % complete exists (Any actual values exists). An error <E1> (Actual values entered must be removed in order to change the Activity Status to Not Started.) will be thrown and the status will remain as is before updating.
Also when the actual finish date is entered the activity status will be changed to 'Completed' or when activity status is changed to completed then actual finish date will be updated.
