You can select an activity sheet and export the contents using an XML format.
The generated XML file is compatible with the Microsoft Project schema definition, and it will be readable by Microsoft Project. The Resource and Assignment information will be included in the output if you select to export the Resource and Assignment in the setup options. The following actions take place during the exporting process in order to generate the XML file:
- Generating mandatory project shell data. This includes populating elements under Project with default values. The default values can be generated by saving an empty project to XML in Microsoft Project. Certain elements such as Start, Finish, Project Name, and Currency Code can be obtained from the shell.
- Populating the calendar information based on the shell calendar assigned to the selected activity sheet.
- Creating Resource elements based on all resources in the Master Rate Sheet which are created manually and currently assigned to activities.
- Creating resource calendars based on the calendar assigned to the resources.
- Creating activities and populate values for the default elements and create dependencies and assignments referencing activity UID.
