- Go to the Home page and click the Tasks node.
- From the Tasks log click the Create icon to open the New Record window.
When you create a BP record, you generate tasks for assignees on the next step, and the tasks appear in the assignees' logs.
The BP record appears in the BP log, including the status, as the BP record moves through the workflow.
The Create option is not available if you do not have the permission to create a record.
You create records of other business processes in the Tasks log and Master Log - Business Processes node, only.
You cannot create records of other business processes in business process log (Company Logs node and Logs node).
Example
You cannot create a Meeting Minutes business process record in an Action Items business process log.
- Select a value for the Business Process Origin field. You can select a BP from Company Workspace, Shells, or Standard Projects.
The Details icon (
) (Tasks log only), next to the Select Business Process Origin field drop-down list in the New Record window, enables you to see a list of available options under Shells or Standard Projects.The list on the left-hand pane is displayed according to your permissions.
Select the option from the left-had pane, then select an entry from the list (on the right-had pane), and click Select. The list of business process names includes those business processes that you have the "Create" permission for.
Your selected option becomes the value of the Select Business Process Origin field of the New Record window.
If applicable and if you have the "Create" permission, select a workflow (Select Workflow).
- In the Select Business Process field, click the drop-down list and select a BP that you want to create a new record for.
The New Record window, for a BP, has a Select Workflow field which displays value if:
- The BP is a non-Workflow BP.
- There is only one Workflow schema available that you can choose.
- When finished, click Create. The BP record is now created in the appropriate log.
