Working with File Attachments and Markups

You can attach files to be routed with a business process (BP) form. These attachments can be documents that are sent within a Document-type BP, such as a transmittal, or they may be supporting documents that are attached to a BP record of any type in the General Comments section of the BP.

Note: You cannot upload and attach two documents with the same name to a BP record. If you are using a Document-type BP (such as a submittal or transmittal), and you are using a folder structure, then you can have two documents with the same name in different folders (as you would on a local machine or network drive).

You can access the attachments in Workflow task emails under General comments section in the Document-type BP.

By default, files attached to business processes are placed in the Unpublished Documents folder in the Document Manager. A Publish Path data element can be designed in business processes in uDesigner to specify the automatic publishing of documents to a specified path and override the default.

Refer to Unifier Managers User Guide for details about automatic publishing of documents.

If you are uploading drawing files, see Attach Drawing and Reference Files to a Business Process for handling drawing file attachments.

You may also initiate a discussion group in Classic View to help you draft your comments or markups. See Participating in a Discussion Group (Classic View only).

Note: For security, the Company Administrators can specify the list and size of files that can be uploaded to the Company Properties page, by users and per company policy. Contact your Company Administrator for more information.
