Switching Configuration Homes (PS_CFG_HOME)
By default, when you install application servers, Process Scheduler servers, and PIA domains, the system installs them in the current PS_CFG_HOME location. If you do not modify or override the PS_CFG_HOME location, and you install all of these server types on the same host, all of these server types will exist and be managed by PSADMIN in the same PS_CFG_HOME location. With all of the server types installed in the same PS_CFG_HOME, you would not need to use the Switch Config Home feature. This is the recommended approach.
PSADMIN supports multiple PS_CFG_HOME locations, but you need to make sure to set the PS_CFG_HOME variable correctly before installing domains, and use the Switch Config Home option to specify the appropriate PS_CFG_HOME when performing administrative and configuration tasks.
Note: You can set the appropriate PS_CFG_HOME outside of PSADMIN manually, or from a BAT or shell script, or you can set it using the Switch Config Home feature.
To switch configuration homes:
Navigate to the main PSADMIN PeopleSoft Server Administration menu.
Select option 5) Switch Config Home.
-------------------------------- PeopleSoft Server Administration -------------------------------- Config Home: D:\HR_SERVER\8.57 1) Application Server 2) Process Scheduler 3) Web (PIA) Server 4) Switch Config Home 5) Service Setup 6) Replicate Config Home 7) Refresh Config Home q) Quit Command to execute (1-7, q): 5
At the prompt, enter the complete path to the desired PS_CFG_HOME location, and press ENTER.
Note: If the directory structure does not currently exist, PSADMIN creates it.
Please provide new Config Home location or q to quit: D:\PT_SERVER\8.57
Verify that the correct Config Home value appears on the PeopleSoft Server Administration menu.
