Controlling Text

This section discusses how to control text in maps.

To add standalone text to maps:

  1. Click the Text button in the Drawing toolbar.

  2. Click the map in the location where you want to place the text.

    A text box with the word text appears on the map.

  3. Double-click the default text to select it.

  4. Enter your own text.

To format standalone text:

  1. Right-click the text and select Item Properties.

    The Text Properties dialog box appears.

  2. Set the text properties.

  3. Click OK.

To change the position of icon text:

  1. Click the text to select it.

  2. Drag the text to its new position.

    You might want to center caption text under the object that it describes.
