What configurations work on my computer for a cloud deployment?
Here is information about the configurations (including browsers) that we've tested and verified to work on your desktop or laptop.
What configurations work for an on-premises server deployment?
See the P6 EPPM Tested Configurations document to get details on the configurations that we've tested and verified to work when you deploy P6 EPPM on-premises.
How can I tell if your information applies to a cloud deployment, an on-premises deployment, or both?
Our documentation covers both on-premises and cloud-based deployments, and in most cases is identical for both. However, some content (mostly installation and configuration) might be specific for on-premises while other content is specific for cloud. Any content that applies to only one of these deployments is labeled accordingly. If you are unclear whether you are using a cloud-based deployment of P6 EPPM vs an on-premises deployment, check with your company's site administrator.
Where can I find documentation for installing and configuring P6 EPPM on-premises?
Go to Installation and Configuration Documentation for information on how to install and configure the database, servers, and modules in an on-premises deployment; they also provide an overview of all the modules in P6 EPPM.
How do I search documentation?
Our search functionality is a full-text search, which means that it searches both the titles and the text of topics. You can enter text to search for in the search box and select whether to search for All words, Any words, or the Exact phrase you entered.
When you use the All words search option, you can further narrow your search using the following terms and wild cards:
- AND: Finds topics which include both the words supplied.
For example, searching for
summary and table
will find topics that include both the words summary and table. - NOT: Finds topics which do not include the word supplied.
For example, searching for
weight not step
will find topics that include the word weight but will exclude from the search results any topics that include the word step (even if they include the word weight). - *: A wild card used to represent zero or more letters or numbers.
For example, searching for
custom*
will find topics that include the words Custom, Customize, Customizing, Customizable, and Customized.
You can combine these terms and wild cards. For example, searching for activ* and critical not schedule
will return topics which include the words active, activity, and activities as well as the word critical, but will exclude from the results any topics which include the word schedule.
You can use all these search methods in both the help and the documentation library.
Where can I find documentation for earlier versions?
If you are on a version prior to Version 21, go to Previous Releases to access your documentation.
Please note that we update our version Version 21 documentation on a regular basis as we add new features to P6 EPPM. You will always see the most current content that is available. This means that if you are not on the most current version Version 21 release level, you might see documentation for features that you will not have access to until you upgrade.
