Step 2: Entering General Workflow Information

To enter general workflow information, including the name, a brief description, the owner, and availability or status:

  1. In the Setup module, click New. The General step of the Workflow Wizard appears.
  2. In the Name field, enter the workflow's name.
  3. In the Description field, enter important details to further identify this workflow from others. You can include hypertext in the description.
  4. In the Owner field, the name of the logged-in user will appear. To change this owner, select a user from the drop-down list.
  5. In the Status field, select Enabled or Disabled. Enable a workflow to make it available. The system or a user can start an enabled workflow. Disable a workflow to make it unavailable for use by users or the system.
  6. Click Next to proceed to the Instance Defaults step of the Workflow Wizard, where you define the initial properties for all future instances of this particular workflow.
