Defining Data Source for Column/Bar Graph

Column and bar graphs translate tables into graphs.

To define the data source of a column or bar graph:

  1. On the Data step, in the Data Based On drop-down list, select a table. A preview graph of the selected table appears in the Preview box.
  2. Select a Direction and Sequence for the graph. The preview box automatically updates to show the effect of your selections.

There are four possible Direction-Sequence combinations:

    • Columns/Clustered: The values in the graph are displayed vertically as clustered columns.
    • Columns/Stacked: The values in the graph are displayed vertically as stacked columns.
    • Bars/Clustered: The values in the graph are displayed horizontally as clustered bars.
    • Bars/Stacked: The values in the graph are displayed horizontally as stacked bars.
  3. Click Next to proceed to the next step, Choosing Colors.
