User Profile Configuration

Purpose: Use the User Profile Configuration screen to specify user authority, LDAP authentication options, and the user’s default system. The user’s default system indicates which system product code to display to the user at the Order screen.

Temporary password: When you create a new user, you need to specify an initial, temporary password. The user needs to change the password when first logging into Order Broker.

To change the user’s password after initial creation, select the Reset Password option at the User Profiles screen.

User anonymized? If a user has been anonymized, asterisks are displayed as the user’s name and email.

Anonymized users can still log into Order Broker and work with data, based on their authority, unless they are deactivated. Anonymizing a user does not automatically deactivate the user.

How to display this screen:

• Create a new user or click the edit icon () for an existing user at the User Profiles screen.

• Click Edit at the Browse User Profile window.

• Only users with User Profiles authority can display this screen. See the Role Wizard for more information.

• If the User Profile Configuration screen was already open in another tab when you clicked the edit icon, you advance to this screen with the previously-selected user displayed.

Options at this screen

Option	Procedure
complete creation of a new user	1. Optionally, change the User ID you entered at the User Profiles screen. Once you click Save, you can no longer change the user ID; instead, you need to delete and recreate the user. The user ID is 5 to 10 positions, alphanumeric. Always lowercase. 2. Enter the user’s Name. The name you entered at the User Profiles screen defaults, but you can override it. The user name is 1 to 30 positions, alphanumeric. 3. Optionally, enter the user’s email address. The email address must be in the format must be in the format of name@host.ext. You cannot enter more than one email address. 4. Optionally, select the Use LDAP flag to configure the user for LDAP authentication. If you select this flag: • The Domain is required. If a domain is flagged as the default, this domain defaults here, but you can override it. • Enter the LDAP User Id if the Order Broker User ID does not match the user ID in the domain used for LDAP authentication. See the LDAP User Id for background. 5. If the user is not flagged for LDAP authentication, enter a temporary password in the Password field, and confirm the entry in the Confirm Password field. The password: • must be from 8 to 25 characters long • cannot contain any spaces • must include at least 1 numeric character • must include at least 1 letter • must include at least 1 special character • cannot be the same as the user ID The first time the user logs in, Order Broker requires that the user change the password. 5. If the user is not flagged for LDAP authentication, enter a temporary password in the Password field, and confirm the entry in the Confirm Password field. The password:

• must be from 8 to 25 characters long

• cannot contain any spaces

• must include at least 1 numeric character

• must include at least 1 letter

• must include at least 1 special character

• cannot be the same as the user ID

The first time the user logs in, Order Broker requires that the user change the password.

Fields at this screen

Fields	Description
User
User ID	5 to 10 positions, alphanumeric. Display-only for an existing user; otherwise, required. Always lowercase.
Name	1 to 30 positions, alphanumeric. Required. Asterisks displayed if the user has been anonymized.
Email	Must be in the format of name@host.ext. You cannot enter more than one email address. Depending on your selections at the Event Logging screen, Order Broker might generate an email to this email address if the user uploads proximity or product attribute data; see that screen for more information. Optional. Asterisks displayed if the user has been anonymized.
Active	Indicates whether the user can log into Order Broker. You can also use the Disable Login option at the User Profiles screen to control whether a user can log in.
Use LDAP	Select this flag if the user should log into Order Broker with his or her network password rather than a password specific to Order Broker. If you select this flag, the Domain is required, and the LDAP User Id is optional. Note: When you clear the Use LDAP flag for an existing user, you need to enter and confirm the new, temporary password for the user. For more information: See Domain Configuration for LDAP Authentication for background.
Domain	The domain to authenticate the user’s login information. This field is displayed only if the Use LDAP flag is selected. If a domain is flagged as the default, that domain defaults here, but you can override it. Required if the user is flagged for LDAP authentication, See Domains for information on setting up domains.
LDAP User Id	The user’s ID in the domain used for LDAP authentication. Up to 255 positions. Complete this field only if the user’s ID in the specified domain is different from the Order Broker User ID. For example, you might complete this field if the user’s domain identifies the user with a name that is longer than 10 positions, since that is the maximum length of the Order Broker user ID. Your entry must not match the Order Broker User ID or LDAP User Id of an existing Order Broker user. Optional. This field is enterable only if the user’s Use LDAP flag is selected.
Password	The user’s initial, temporary password. The first time the user logs into Order Broker, he or she will need to enter this password and then change the password. Password requirements: • must be changed at least every 90 days • must be from 8 to 25 characters long • cannot contain any spaces • must include at least 1 numeric character • must include at least 1 letter • must include at least 1 special character • cannot be the same as the user ID The password is case-sensitive (A is not the same as a). Required when creating a new user, unless the Use LDAP flag is selected; in that case, this field is not displayed. Note: When you clear the Use LDAP flag for an existing user, you need to enter and confirm the new, temporary password for the user. This field is not displayed for an existing user except immediately after you clear the Use LDAP flag. Otherwise, to set a temporary password for an existing user, select the Reset Password option at the User Profiles screen.
Confirm Password	Must match the Password. Required to create a new user unless the Use LDAP flag is selected; in that case, this field is not displayed. See the Password field for more information. This field is not displayed for an existing user except immediately after you clear the Use LDAP flag.
Preferences
Default Shipping System	Controls the system product code to display as the Item # at the Order screen. Required.
Authority Note: All authority is selected by default for the admin (cloud) user and cannot be removed. Alternate method to assign authority: You can assign authority to an existing user through this screen, or through the Users step in the Role Wizard.
Eligible Roles	This area displays all available roles set up to control authority for retailer users that are not currently assigned to this user. To assign a role, highlight it and drag it to the Assigned Roles area. For more information: See the Role Wizard, especially the Authority step, for information on setting up roles and the authority that a role can control.
Assigned Roles	This area displays all roles to which the user is currently assigned. To remove a role, highlight it and drag it to the Eligible Roles area.
