Updating the Cash Flow Properties by using the ORACLE PROJECT TEMPLATE

If new options, such as a new curve, are added to the ORACLE PROJECT TEMPLATE that are not included in the Configuration Package update, complete the applicable steps to ensure that they are available for new and existing projects.

To update Project Level Cash Flow:

  1. Update your project template using the ORACLE PROJECT TEMPLATE (DO NOT MODIFY) template (for more information, see Updating Shell Templates).
  2. Go to the Company Workspace tab and switch to Admin mode.
  3. In the left Navigator, click Templates > Shells > Projects.
  4. Open your project template.
  5. In the left Navigator, expand Cost Manager, and select Cash Flow to display the Cash Flow log.
  6. Select Project Level Cash Flow.
  7. From the gear menu ( ), select Properties.
  8. In the Curves pane on the right, click Baseline, and set the properties as follows:
    • Cost: Select Approved Initial Budget.
    • Schedule: Select Use dates from Activity Sheet, and then select Master Schedule from the picker.
    • Project Type: Select Baseline.
    • From Date: Select Planned Start.
    • To Date: Select Planned Finish.
    • Distribution: Select S Curve.
    • Variance: Select Inflow.
  9. Click Update.
  10. In the Curves pane on the right, click Forecast, and set the properties as follows:
    • Cost: Select Forecast.
    • Schedule: Select Use dates from Activity Sheet, and then select Master Schedule from the picker.
    • Project Type: Select Current.
    • From Date: Select Start.
    • To Date: Select Finish.
    • Distribution: Select S Curve.
    • Variance: Select Outflow.
  11. Click Update.
  12. In the Curves pane on the right, click Actuals Curve, and set the properties as follows:
    • Cost: Select Total Costs Incurred.
    • Variance: Select Outflow.
  13. To save the Cash Flow Properties and return to the Cash Flow log, click Save & Close.
  14. To update the shells for existing projects, use the Update Shells option (for more information, see Updating Shells).

    New projects created using the updated template will include these cash flow properties.

To update Estimate Cash Flow:

  1. Update your project template using the ORACLE PROJECT TEMPLATE (DO NOT MODIFY) template (for more information, see Updating Shell Templates).
  2. Go to the Company Workspace tab and switch to Admin mode.
  3. In the left Navigator, click Templates > Shells > Projects.
  4. Open your project template.
  5. In the left Navigator, expand Cost Manager, and select Cash Flow to display the Cash Flow log.
  6. Select Estimate Cash Flow.
  7. From the gear menu ( ), select Properties.
  8. In the Curves pane on the right, click Estimate, and set the properties as follows:
    • Cost: Select Approved Estimates.
    • Schedule: Select Use dates from Activity Sheet, and then select Master Schedule from the picker.
    • Project Type: Select Baseline.
    • From Date: Select Planned Start.
    • To Date: Select Planned Finish.
    • Distribution: Select S Curve.
    • Variance: Select Inflow.
  9. Click Update.
  10. To save the Estimate Cash Flow Properties and return to the Cash Flow log, click Save & Close.
  11. To update the shells for existing projects, use the Update Shells option (for more information, see Updating Shells).

    New projects created using the updated template will include these cash flow properties.
