Comparing Configuration Packages and Viewing Design References
If you have the required permissions, you can perform the following additional tasks in the Configuration Packages node.
- Compare two configuration packages that have been imported.
- Compare a business process (BP) design to the version that was last deployed.
- View the BP Design References within a configuration package.
To compare packages:
- Go to the Company Workspace tab and switch to Admin mode.
- In the left Navigator, click Configuration Package Management > Configuration Packages.
- In the Configuration Packages log, select the two packages that you want to compare.
- In the toolbar, click Compare Packages.
The Comparing Packages: <selected packages> page lists the differences in the Compare Status column. For example, the column might indicate that a specific BP is only in included in one of the packages. If there are no identifiable differences, the Compare Status identifies them as Comparable or Equal.
You can use the Collapse and Expand options in the toolbar to collapse or expand the list of modules, and you can use the Find on Page option to search for a specific module, BP, sheet, and so on.
- When you are done, click to dismiss the page.
To compare BP designs:
- Go to the Company Workspace tab and switch to Admin mode.
- In the left Navigator, click Configuration Package Management > Configuration Packages.
- In the Configuration Packages log, select the two packages that contain the BPs you want to compare.
- In the toolbar, click Compare Packages.
- In the Comparing Packages: <selected packages> page, select the applicable BP and click Compare Selected Business Process in the toolbar.
The Comparing Company Configuration Design from Packages: <selected packages> page lists the differences and uses color coding to differentiate between items that are Modified, Added, and Deleted.
You can use the options in the Filter to display all modifications or to display only specific changes.
- All: Displays all differences.
- Modified: Displays the data that has been modified in the second package.
- Added: Displays the data that has been added to the second package.
- Deleted: Displays the data that has been removed from second package.

- When you are done, click to dismiss the page and return to the Comparing Packages: <selected packages> page.
To view design references:
- Go to the Company Workspace tab and switch to Admin mode.
- In the left Navigator, click Configuration Package Management > Configuration Packages.
- In the Configuration Packages log, select the applicable package.
- In the toolbar, click View Design References.
The Design References in <selected package> page provides detailed information, which you can filter and sort by using the Designs filter and select the applicable tab.
