Editing the CSV File

Each row in a CSV file corresponds to a new record, and each column is a field to be populated on the form.

Note: Do not add, move, or delete the columns in the CSV file.

To edit the CSV file:

  1. Open the CSV file in Microsoft Excel or a compatible application, such as a text editor or Notepad.

This image displays an example CSV file.

  2. To add header (upper form) data to the file:
    1. Move your cursor to an empty line and type an H in column A.
    2. Press the Tab key to move to the next column and enter the value that you want to import for that field.
    3. Repeat step b for all the fields in the row.
  3. To add detail form data to the file:
    1. Move your cursor to an empty line and type a D in column A.
    2. Press the Tab key to move to the next column and enter the value that you want to import for that field.
    3. Repeat step b for all the fields in the row.
  4. If you have additional line item data that needs to be imported, repeat step 3 and its sub-steps until you have entered all the line items you want to import.
  5. Save the file.
