Use the Database Configuration dialog box to add, delete, or edit database configurations.
Add button: Click to add a new database alias to the list
Search field: Type the name of a database alias to find it in the list.
Database Alias list: select the alias to use.
Click Delete to delete the alias.
Click Copy to make a copy of the alias.
Driver Type: Select the driver required to connect to the database.
Database Alias: Enter the alias for the database.
The settings you see depend on the driver type you select.
Microsoft SQL Server / SQL Express settings
Connection String: Enter the connection string for the database.
Select database key section
Use default database key: Select to use the default key for the database.
Key File Name: Click Browse to select a key file.
Key Name: Select the key to use.
Click Next to see the following settings:
User Name: Enter the public user username.
Password: Enter the public user password.
Public Group ID: Select the public group ID for the database.
Oracle settings
Connection String: Enter the connection string for the database.
Select database key section
Use default database key: Select to use the default key for the database.
Key File Name: Click Browse to select a key file.
Key Name: Select the key to use.
Click Next to see the following settings:
User Name: Enter the public user username.
Password: Enter the public user password.
Public Group ID: Select the public group ID for the database.
P6 Pro Cloud Connect settings
Connection String: Enter the connection string for the database.
Read Timeout: Enter a number in seconds for the maximum amount of time to wait for a query response from the Cloud Connect database. If a response is not received within that time, the connection is closed. The default is 900.
Use SAML SSO: Select if your database uses SAML Single Sign On.
Enable local cache: Select to create a local cache database to improve performance and allow you to work offline if your organization permits offline working.
P6 Pro Standalone (SQLite) settings
Choose whether to Add a new standalone database and connection or Add a connection to an existing standalone database.
If you selected to add a new database, click Next to see the following settings:
Login Name: Enter a login name for the user in the new standalone database.
Personal Name: Enter a personal name for the user in the new standalone database.
Enter new password: Enter a password for the user in the new standalone database.
Confirm new password: Enter the password for the user in the new standalone database again.
Base currency section
Abbreviation: The abbreviation for the base currency for the new database.
Name: The name for the base currency for the new database.
Symbol: The symbol for the base currency for the new database.
Click Next to see the following settings:
Login Name: The login name for the user in the new standalone database.
File Name: The path and filename of the new standalone database.
Load sample data: Select this option to populate the new standalone database with sample data. This option is only available if you chose to create a new standalone database.
If you selected to connect to an existing database, click Next to see the following setting:
File Name: The path and filename of the standalone database to which you want to connect.
