Units and Prices tab - Roles dialog box

Use the Units and Prices tab to specify up to five Price/Unit rates and the maximum units/time for the selected role. After you assign a role to an activity, you can select which rate you want to use to calculate cost.

Calculate costs from units: Mark this checkbox to indicate that any new assignments for this role will have its costs recalculated whenever any quantity changes occur.

Effective Date: You can set varying limits and prices over time by specifying the effective start date for each change.

Max Units/Time: The number of units available during each workperiod (hour, day, week, or month) of the specified timeframe; you can enter a percentage, or a numeric value followed by the appropriate time unit (such as 8h)and/or duration unit (such as 8h/d), depending on your user preference setting for time and duration units.

Rate Type: Displays the five available rate types.

Price/Unit: Double-click the cell, then type the role's monetary price per unit. For example, type 25h (for $25 per hour). You can only enter units in hours, days, weeks, months, or years.

Add: Click to add a new effective date row to the table.

Delete: Click to delete the selected effective date row from the table.

When connected to a P6 Professional database:

You can view the abbreviations your system administrator defined for these units in the Admin Preferences, Time Periods tab.

When connected to a P6 EPPM database: You can view the abbreviations your system administrator defined for these units in P6.

Notes:

When connected to a P6 EPPM database: If Use assigned calendar to specify the number of work hours for each time period checkbox is marked (Application Settings, Time Periods link in P6), then the module converts, stores, and displays the Price/Unit value using the hours per time period defined in the default global calendar. Otherwise, the hours per time period from the Application Settings, Time Periods in P6 are used.
