Run Report dialog box

Use the Run Report dialog box to compile and print the selected report. You can also use this dialog box to compile and Email a report, and to compile a report and create a WP & Docs record for the report.

Print Preview

Choose to preview the selected report before printing it.

Directly to Printer

Choose to compile and print the selected report.

When connected to a P6 Professional database: If you are running the report batch through the Oracle Job Service, the report is sent to the default printer set on the job service machine.

Email Attachment

Choose to generate the report and attach it to an Email. Creates an .htm file, and the file name corresponds to the report name.

HTML File

Choose to compile and save the selected report as an HTML file.

ASCII Text File

Choose to compile and save the selected report as a delimited text file (.txt).

Field Delimiter

If you choose ASCII Text File, select the character used to separate categories of information that you save in delimited text format (.txt).

Text Qualifier

If you choose ASCII Text File, select the character used to separate categories of information that you save in delimited text format (.txt), if the information contains the field delimiter you specify.

Output file

If you choose HTML File or ASCII Text File, click to specify the file location and name where you want to save the report. The default output file name corresponds to the report name.

When connected to a P6 EPPM database: If you choose Store report in Work Products and Documents for this project, below, select a network location or some other publicly accessible location.

View file when done

Mark this checkbox to automatically open the report in your default browser, for an HTML file, or your default text viewer, for an ASCII text file.

When connected to a P6 Professional database: If you are setting up more than one job service for report batches, specify a different directory or filename so existing files are not overwritten.

Store report in Work Products and Documents for this project (P6 EPPM Only)

Choose to create a WP & Docs record for this report. The name of the resulting WP & Docs record corresponds to the name in the Output file field. The state of this field is not saved on exit (always cleared by default on launch). Also, this field is disabled if multiple projects are open.

Notes

Your comments about the selected report.

When connected to a P6 EPPM database: If you choose Store report in Work Products and Documents for this project, the content in the Notes field is copied to the Description for the WP & Docs record.

If you choose Email Attachment, the content in this field is copied to the body of the Email.
