Designing Business Flows

In Primavera Gateway, a data transfer occurs in two main steps:

  1. Data is transferred from the source application to Gateway
  2. Data is then transferred from Gateway to the destination application

The above steps are completed by using field mapping templates in a business flow. A field mapping template contains a list of business objects and fields that are to be transferred from the source application to the destination application. It also contains information on how to map each source business object and a destination business object with a Gateway business object. A business flow is a combination of a specific set of field mapping templates that fulfill a data transfer requirement.

As a Gateway developer or an administrator, you will review the objects and fields that need to be included in a data transfer, create or modify the necessary field mapping templates to select the objects and fields, and then design an appropriate business flow that will be used for transferring data using Primavera Gateway.

This section provides a general procedure on how to create new business flows in Primavera Gateway.
