Adding a Field Mapping Template for a CSV File: Example

This example shows how to create a new field mapping template for a Role provider object, and fields defined ina spreadsheet, Roles.xslx.

Prerequisites

You have

Procedure

For the purposes of this example, File is the source provider and Unifier is the destination provider.

  1. In the sidebar, select Configuration.
  2. Select the Field Mapping Templates tab.
  3. From the Select Business Object list, select Role, and then select Add....
  4. In the General step of the Template wizard:
    1. Enter a Template Name, Field Mapping Template for Role.
    2. Select Template Type as Direct.
    3. Set Provider 1 as File.
    4. Set Provider 2 as Unifier.
    5. Select Provider 1 Object 1 as Role.
    6. Select Provider 2 Object as Role.
  5. In the Mappings step, create mappings for the fields, Id and Name, listed in the Roles.xlsx as follows:
    1. To map the Id field between File and Unifier:
      1. In the File: Role drop-down, select Id (String).
      2. In the Gateway: Role drop-down, select Id (String).
      3. In the Unifier: Role drop-down, select uuu_role_Id (String).
      4. Select Add.
    2. To map the Name field between File and Unifier:
      1. In the File: Role drop-down, select Name (String).
      2. In the Gateway: Role drop-down, select Name (String).
      3. In the Unifier: Role drop-down, select uuu_role_name (String).
      4. Select Add.
  6. In the Summary step, review your selections and then select Save.

    The Field Mapping Template for Role will now be available in the Field Mappings tab of the Flow Type: Master Data flow for the Role object.

  7. Define a business flows and select the Direct template created above.
