Copying an Activity Mapping Template: Example

Use the copy feature if you want to use an out-of-the-box template for a different purpose, but also want to retain the original version. This example duplicates the File - P6 Activity Mapping template and adds the CreateDate field to the Activity business object for a File - P6 integration.

Note: The CreateDate field is supported in the Activity object of P6, but needs to be added to the Activity object in Gateway data dictionary and the File data dictionary.

To copy the File - P6 Activity Mapping template:

1. Select Configuration.
2. Select the Field Mapping Templates tab.
3. From the Select Business Object list, select Activity.

   All field mapping templates supporting the Activity business object displays.

4. In the Field Mapping Name column, select File - P6 Activity Mapping, select theActions menu, and then select Copy.

   The Template wizard displays a copy of the File - P6 Activity Mapping template.

Editing the Template Copy

Edit the template copy as follows:

1. In the General step of the Template wizard:
   1. Rename the template as File - P6 Activity Custom Mapping.
   2. Select Next.

      Note: Select Next on each screen to advance to the next step.

2. In the Mappings step, add the CreateDate field to the Activity object as follows:
   1. From the P6: Activity list, select CreateDate.
   2. Add the CreateDate field to the Activity object of the File data dictionary as follows:
      1. From the File: Activity list, select Add New Field....
      2. In the *Enter name field, enter CreateDate.
      3. In the * Select Field Type... drop-down, select DateTime.
      4. Enter a description, The date on which the activity was created., and select Add.
3. Add the CreateDate field to the Activity object of the Gateway data dictionary as follows:
   1. From the Gateway: Activity list, select Add New Field....
   2. In the *Enter name field, enter CreateDate.
   3. In the * Select Field Type... drop-down, select DateTime.
   4. Enter a description, The date on which the activity was created., and select Add.
4. In the Summary step, review all the selections made in the previous steps:
   1. Expand each step title to review the selections made in that step.
   2. Select any of the following actions:
      • Select Back to navigate to a specific step and make changes.
      • Select Save to add the provider object to the data dictionary.

   The File - P6 Activity Custom Mapping template can now be used in a File - P6 business flow.
